Quick question on Radiators.
Have my front end off to install new horns and clean out the radiators. Noticed several things. 997.1 RS only has on fan on the passenger side. Has anyone ever installed a fan on the driver's side? Is it unnecessary and overkill?
One other question. Are both those little radiators (condensers) that sit in front of the side radiators, for the AC system.
My side radiators are in perfect conditions as they are protected by the smaller condensers that sit in from of them. However, the center does have some wear on it. Was thinking of replacing just the center with a CSF radiator. Thoughts?

I'll take counterpoint to your POV since I just went through the same decision.
My left radiator started leaking due to cracking. Given my car is now 15+ years old and the radiators are a common failure point, I decided to do them all. I figured they would likely all time out before too long and if I just did one, I'd have to pay the labor to do it each time. Seemed a proactive/preventative maintenance to do them all...so I did. I also had the shop replace all the rubber hoses in the front end...same as I did in the back end when the engine came out. Same idea...rubber is getting brittle...cost is small while stuff is apart to do that too. Used all OEM hoses.
Then had to decide on which radiators. I generally like OEM for most things but given the radiator composition has a lot of plastic in it, I liked the more robust design of the CSF radiators. They also have a very solid reputation for reliability. I view the choice as OEM+ rather than being cheap. My car is no longer 100% stock and has 50K miles so I doubt that would ever have an impact if I ever chose to sell it. As far as what a potential buyer might think, I have meticulous records on my car back to new. The tale of the documentation is no-expense-spared rather than going cheap. That's the story the binder will tell.
Just my thinking; YMMV.

When I have to replace them on my 6/3, I'll go with CSF as I've had one on my 1991 928GT for years without any issues, very well made and I could care less about the resale point.

Do you really think it will hurt resale? I'd love to buy a stock car with upgraded, better cooling, radiators as I would think it's better for the engine. However, I understand the purists. My car has 18k odo so it's not for the collector so I'll just do the center and keep the perfectly working but used stocker for the purist buyer, when I'm done with orange on a car.

yea exactly… if I was to overthink it… pretty much any low mileage, clean, high optioned RS is pushing 300k-400k+ now, so I feel the buyers will want to see OEM and spec sheet options

Can you get the CSF in Orange?
I agree with ChrisF, CSF makes a very high-quality and efficient heat-exchanger. Choice product with the GT2 guys that make a little more boost than stock.
