Trakcar,

I would attempt to find an event at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway too. Also, Thunderhill is supposed to be finished with their expansion sometime in June and when combined the track will be over 5 miles long. There is a 3 day event in July with PCA and NorCal racing which should be good too. It just gets a little warm but you can hang out in Mooty's airconditioned trailer in between runs.

Thanks, Sonoma, Laguna Sega, Thunderhill and Button willow are all close pretty close.
So wait with Thunderhill till June if possible.

Maybe I'll bring my own A/C ;-)

Willow Springs has 2 tracks really. Big Willow is fast and has only 9 turns, and the Streets of Willow is tight and technical. Both are completely different.

Ncrc has an event June 28/29 weekend. I think most of the usual suspects will be there. Mike

Events found so far May - June:

May Sat Sun 3+4 Spring Mountain NASA
May Wed 7 willow Springs Open Track Racing
May Fri 9 Thunderhill HOD
May Sat Sun 10+11 Button Willow PCA GGR
May Mon 19 Laguna Sega Monday HOD
May Sat Sun 24+25 Willow Springs Speed ventures
May Tue 27 Thunderhill Golden Gate Lotus
May Fri Sat Sun Sears Point Speed ventures

June 21+22 Laguna Seca as part of Porsche Parade
Did you take a look at trackmaster's events calendar?
http://trackmasters-racing.com/

I will be at Thunderhill with HOD on May 9th. Unfortunately, the 991 GT3 I have on order won't arrive until June at the earliest. No test drive for you because no car. LOL.

+1 on Sonoma being the best norcal track. Many say it's the most technical track out there.

So should I try to drive both?
If there is a track day the organizations specify which track I suppose.

Where?
NCRC?
Maybe I can find something to do June 22-26 to keep me out of trouble between Porsche Parade and NCRC

I'll be at Sonoma on June 28th with trackmasters. There is a TINY chance the GT3 will be there. TINY!. LOL

LOL. Yes. Did I mention the TINY (ie unlikely) chance of the car arriving before June 28th?

Yes. Sonoma is in wine country. You can stay at a nice hotel, your wife can tour the vineyards, and you can drive at Sonoma.
Contrast with Thunderhill, where your wife will have nothing to do. Period.

You know my opinion, you should do none

Shorter one is called "Streets of Willow": As mentioned by skfx430, slower and more technical. Lower HP cars would probably favor this one.

Longer one is called "Big Willow": Only 9 turns and very high speed. Turn 8 can be taken anywhere from 120-130MPH at >1G but watch out for turn 9, Hardest turn to get right at this track. Higher HP cars would favor this one.

Event organizer will specify which one it is running.
