The Frog.0 - GT3 RS 3.6 to 4.0 done by Autometrics Motorsports

Very happy to tell you guys about my 3.6 to 4.0 build done by Autometrics Motorsports..

The very first race i ran.. the first race i won.. the first Professional race i ran and my first professional race win (back in the good ole days) were all with Autometrics..

These days i know many great Porsche shops around the country and even the world.. But it felt best to take my car to AMS..

I loved and will mis the lil 3.6.. I had a custom exhaust system mated to the stock exhaust manifolds.. The custom system used 997 RSR mufflers that my dad cut out of his 997 RSR exhaust because he wanted straight pipes on his rsr (why not, right?)... So he gave me the muffler cans and i had them stuck on my RS about a year and a half ago.. That was the best sounding 911 street car i have heard.. Not to loud and an amazing note... Well I am still using the system with my 4.0.. Only i now have catless Long tube headers between the RSR mufflers and 4 liters of flat six nastyness.. It makes quite the noise!!

This wasn't just a engine build tho.. I wanted the whole package... So a CupCar ring and pinion were installed along with a RSR triple carbon clutch..

For the engine a 4.0 big piston kit was used..
Cup S exhaust cams
4.0 intake manifold stuck on top
S-car-go long tube headers
I also ordered a Gruppe M intake box

Autometrics has 3 of the 4 parts of the build up on their website and i will be using pictures from their build posts in this thread.. The 4th should be up soon..

So i got the car back last month and had my buddys at Topspeed Motorsports in Atlanta put a tune on it.. Kind of a brake in tune in a way.. Well earlier this week with about 500 miles on the motor we put it back on the dyno and put down 459 HP at the wheels and 334 TQ! It feels absolutely amazing.. With the light clutch, shorter gears and added power its a completely different animal then before.. A different car... I loved the 3.6 but this setup is more of what i am used to on the race track.. Which is the best part because its in a street car.. Its kinda out of control.. Loud.. Spins tires.. Free revs like nothing else.. Its quite the experience which is what the 911 is all about imo.. Ive had 800hp street cars so its not as "fast" like those were.. But it is about 100 times more fun and a true driving pleasure.. And i still consider it fast anyways.. Its a lil flat 6 NA pumping out over 500hp.. Thats just so impressive to me..

Here is a video that gives you a lil idea of the nature of the car.. Hang in there for the doughnuts and the Rev match against a CGT..

You could say its a Naughty frog.. Nasty.. Wild.. All of the above.. It checks off alot of squares..

So in the end i want to once again thank Autometrics Motorsports for doing a great job on the build and taking care of my baby... It came out exactly how i wanted it to.. I should have some more videos and stuff in the future i will post..

Very nice revs
Classic .7green RS with a 4.0 the best of all worlds.

mklaskin 02-19-2014 01:39 PM

If it wasn't perfection before, it is now. The Gruppe M box is a nice piece.

Serge944 02-19-2014 01:42 PM

By "big piston," I'm assuming Mahle 105.4mm. Good choice.

If I were to do it again, it would be to a 997.1 green RS, just like this one.

widers911 02-19-2014 01:56 PM

DAMN  that for me is the holy grail for an RS, green .1 with a 4.0 engine. Nicely done!

sharkster 02-19-2014 02:12 PM

well done looks like fun!
