Default Dual Intake Airbox on 997? Cup or 997.2?

I am contemplating installing a dual inlet airbox on my 997.1

Can anyone tell me if they have test fit either a 997.2 airbox or a 997.2 cup?

will it fit in the oem positions?

is the 997.2 gt3 throttle body 82mm?

reason being is that I plan to install a wing and might as well improve airflow.

yes it works, just make sure your new decklid is made for the dual inlets of the 2010 RS or cup.

Get the cup box its cheaper and same part.

+1 note that you *will* need a new decklid (or you will have to cut your existing one) ... ka-ching.

yes it works as long as your have the new decklid or modify your existing. The only difference between the cup and rs airbox is the price and one has the porsche motorsport sticker on it , the other does not

ok what about the opening for the throttle body? can I use my oem TB or will I have to upgrade to the gt3 82mm?

does anyone have part numbers please? or an old airbox I can buy? mooty where are you? ha

the last mod I have to do to my c2s is the wing. the fact that this airbox will work has opened up the variety of wings I can purchase. I want to go oem too.. I currently have an oem gt3 front end and oem gt2 rear

I had assumed you already had the 82mm ... if not then you either need one or need to find some way to mate the airbox to the TB intake.

BTW goes the OEM GT2 decklid work with the dual intake airbox?

I would likely just get the upsized TB to take care of that problem.

to be honest my favorite decklid and wing is the 997.1 gt3rs

that deck has one inlet.. but I could cut out another opening..

I tried it on my 997.1 3.8
the problem is the plenum and throttle body sit at an angle on our cars, where the GT3 and cup cars have the TB / plenum are straight or perpendicular to the air box. so unless you do some major modifing to the air box there is no room to attach the rubber boot.

I could see myself buying a gt3 TB, plenum not so much as they are extremely expensive

did you ever complete the airbox install?
