"System fault visit workshop" error message after installed Solo DL
A buddy of mine helped me wire my Aim Solo DL via the CAN connection through the OBDII port (no wires were cut, just spliced) earlier this afternoon. We used the instructions in the following manual (disconnected the negative terminal from the battery, left the positive one connected):
http://aim-sportline.com/download/ec...II_100_eng.pdf
We took a few laps around his neighborhood to make sure everything was working properly with the Solo. First attempt looked like it wasn't connecting as I wasn't seeing RMPs, Throttle %, etc and the TC light came on. Then he adjusted the connection using the slicing and everything was good to go. When I left his house I got the "System fault visit workshop" error message on my clutter (drove 10 miles back to my house). Then I let the car sit and drove it to the store and the same error message popped up (see picture below).
Any ideas on what the problem is and how to correct??? Should we have wired the Solo DL to the ECU instead???

I connected my Solo DL directly on the Can wires (Can high and low) comming from the DME,(plug connection is on the left side of the driver's seat, near the cage) I got same problem because I did not selected the right car protocol in Solo
After changing to Porsche GT3 (if I well remember), no problem anymore, Solo works perfectly !!

Need to change protocol to 997 gt3 protocol on ecu setting before you hook it up to the car. Update the latest firmware and set the ecu protocol. It should work nicely then.

This is similar to what I did with my E92 M3 when I spliced into the ECU. The cryptic vehicle designations in the AIM during setting the specific vehicle led me to pick the wrong one. The car went bonkers when I fired up the AIM. All codes eventually cleared, and I input the correct vehicle into the AIM, and all was well.

I double checked and the Solo is set up properly for the 997.2 OBDII. I get the error message even when the Solo is not connected. Funny thing is that everything seems to be working properly, including the Solo. I'll take it in to GSR for them to take a look at it.
It is not wired into the fuse box...just pins 6 & 14 through the OBDII port. Should I have it wired off the ECU?

Ecu connection by CAN is a must for this car IMHO. There are a lot of threads on this under Racing forum section.
Isnt CAN wire same as ECU wire? Feeds all the data through those wires. Maybe it runs through OBD as well as to the fuse box fro the main ECU brain.
I dont know about OBD wires. I used ECU wire connection. Maybe try setting up AIM under BOSCHE ECU 997 GT3
4 wires only.
Can + - tap into these wires.. no cutting..
can -
ground - there is a nut that is on the body of the car - ground to that nut
power using one of the fuse slots.
I think obd doesn't transmit data fast enough to aim solo.
Take a look at this-

So connect it to the ECU via the fuse box? Got any pictures or link to pictures that shows me where to connect it up. Yeah, it looks like there was a delay in the data from the input when I was watching the Solo.
