Default GT2 Seats still available?

I'm new to the game and have searched quite a bit on the forums and it seems that Porsche isn't making the GT2 sport seats anymore if I read correctly.

i contacted Suncoast and they have a driver's seat but back-ordered passenger and not sure if they'll get any. And they are asking over $10k.

Does anyone know who is offering them still or anyone have a set they want to part with?

Try checking with Isringhausen in Chicago. There was a thread here about 2 weeks ago regarding sourcing. Consensus is to attempt to get them from Isringhuasen. I think pricing was still less than $7k for the pair. Good luck.

http://beta.carnewal.be/products/P97...-Black-Leather

Not inexpensive and price has gone up. Nomex models no longer available. If you really want these seats hold out for a used set. Seem to go for around $5k. Going to guess that is going up now given low stock everywhere.

This was the price when I was checking in JUNE 2013 (yeah 4mo ago) ... from Gert at Carnewal:
The GT2 seats in leather and Alcantara are 5595 Euro/pair.
The black leather seats are 5190 euro/pair.
Shipping for pair of seats is 150 euro

I have a pair I'd be willing to part with if you're interested. Almost new condition. PM for details.

pdobbs, PM sent.

My research on the seats has yielded the following -

1 - Gert at Carnewal doesnt have them, and no ETA
2 - As mentioned, Suncoast has a driver side only, no ETA on passenger
3- Isringhausen has been some interesting drama. Called them a while back, they got me all excited because they told me that I was first on the list for their next set, which were expected within 10 days. Well, that was 30days ago. $7k for the pair was what I was quoted from them, brand new, leather, including crests.

So my thing is that I think this is a waiting game. I do believe they will be made and shipped at some point. People talk a lot about how Porsche "isnt making" things any more - cars, parts, etc. My experience is that while it is sometimes true, a lot of times it is hype. If they retail these seats for $7-10k new, and their margin is 50% on the seats, why would they stop making them (or their manufacturer specifically). Clearly there is volume demand.

Anyway, my plan is to wait until I can buy a brand new set, or find someone that has a completely blemish free set. Whichever comes first

Is $8k a decent price for a brand new set of leather/leather?

Max, if they are truly brand new - meaning unwrapped, you take the plastic off from the factory, unfortunately, yes. Per my post above, Isringhausen quoted me $7k + taxes and shipping. I am at the top of their "waitlist" for the backordered seats. Would I pay an extra $1k if another dealer had/found them, yes.

If by brand new you mean an individual who pulled them out early, pretty much "as new", to me, that is a little high. But it just depends how patient you are to wait for brand new ones (I can be). I would think that perfect/pristine seats should be $1-2k less than brand new in this "scarce" market, and $2-3k less if/when they become readily available again new. Just my .02 from the obviously biased buyer side of the market.

I have a pair of GT2 sport buckets from my 2010 GT3. All black with ala inserts. No crest. Airbags still intact, never exploded. Perfect except for blemish on drivers rear where it rubbed against rollbar.
$6000+shipping.
Seats are in Arlington, VA.
Shipping is no probem. I saved boxes and plastic and bubblewrap that Mooty used to ship 2 Recaro race seats to me last month.

I'll bet a detailer could polish that scratch out... :-) Good deal for seats with alacantara inserts, these are $ from porsche (I think like 3k for just inserts).

Shipping cross country can't be cheap though, need to look into that.

GT3DE seats are the deal...good guy well known. If you buy them have them make a crate for them to ship in.
