Toe of the boot is fatal on ice mode. The Outer Loop hooks right and car is totaled.
It is the the track the wrecks most cars in the NE, Lime Rock is in 2nd place.
My 2nd favorite track in U.S. (have yet to drive Road America).

Agreed. You messed up
Thanks! It was awesome. What a great track.
I would go back there in a minute.
I can see why. Place is scary as well no room for error. Not 1 but 2 cars totalled during the event. I asked about the barriers and why they were so close. Apparently when they were wider people were dying on a regular basis. They said moving the barriers in lessened the velocity of ping pong impacts. Crushes your car but reduces fatalities.
On a separate note, I tagged you on facebook to a for sale sign I saw there for a set of used Fiat scuderia wheels. $3k. Thought that seemed like a good deal if you wanted another set.

What a great event. Amazing track. I'm seeing those blue barriers in my sleep now. Could they have picked an uglier color though?
I got to take a friends 2010 cup out for a session. Holy crap. I've ridden in them before, but never driven one. It's a good thing that a cup is totally financially out of the question as I'd sell everything I own and get one tomorrow. What an experience. Slicks were fairly used up but still. Wow. Sequential is bonkers.
Anyway, shot some video with my samsung phablet. They don't have a good harry's lap timer equivalent on android so I shot it in video mode with the phone.
Car: 1987 BMW Spec E30 race rental. 150hp/2700 pounds. RA1's/Hawk pads.
Session starts at 5 minutes and nothing worth watching after 18:00.
I'm going to toot my own horn and say I drove pretty well for my first time at the track in a car I've been in before Worked my way through the entire sub 250hp field and even picked off a vette.
I pit out behind Chin Motorsports new Cayman R. Nice car. Maria Hicks behind the wheel.
Little bimmer was huge fun! For 15k all in, I think I might get one to go racing. It's like a caged go cart.

awesome, you had fun. only one thing - if you got to run with a big mixed group it is worth to delay your start or just take a quick trip to pits for 1.5min to brake away from a train as it is no fun to in the middle of 3min+ crowd and try to work them all out. if you delay your start you can do almost entire session pretty much alone which feels just great.

Wish I had some. You could have heard me stall it His data system wasn't working and I didn't want to be that guy moving my cell phone and cradle into his car. Then again, how often do you get to drive a cup. Should have damnit.
The NY crowd is very vette heavy. Very heavy. They love them some detroit iron. So different from running in the southeast. Very nice crowd though. Everybody was super cool and you had the usual track day camaraderie. I would go back and run with them anytime!
I'm seriously considering an E30 or E36. It was so stinkin' fun. No power steering or ABS. Well it had ABS but it was broken. Total hoot though. I think it would be good cheap racing if you could get out with 15 or 20 of them at once.
You know, I'm weird like that. I enjoy traffic to a certain degree. I know you can't get your ultimate flyer in traffic, but it's fun measuring yourself against other cars/drivers. Not to mention it's a nice ego stroke passing cars with more power
