WTB: 20-24' TPD Trailer
Well guys, it's time for me to jump on the TPD bandwagon. Anybody have any leads on a 20-24' footer? I'm kicking myself for not jumping on a nice one a couple weeks ago and now I can't seem to find any others that fit the bill. I've taken a look at other brands but after obsessing over the TPD, I just don't think I can comprise.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Montoya - congrats! I was waiting to hear if you finally locked that one down. Looks like a very very nice trailer and a great buy. You didn't steal the one I was looking at so no worries. The one I missed out on was a decked out 20' in Carson City. Oh well though, lesson learned. All of this talk about 20' being too small as me really considering a 22' or 24'. My concern is my tow vehicle which is a '12 Raptor. I think a WD / sway control hitch combined with 4" air bumps that I can swap in when I tow should allow me to get away with a 24' but it might be pushing it a little.

Oh yes, the thread begins to be pulled from the sweater... Bigger is always better, ask PJ and Mooty. My F350 dually really works well with the trailer, which is now going to be 26'. Thanks for congrats and good luck again!

Yeah tow capacity is 6500K for the SuperCab and 8500K for the CrewCab. I unfortunately have the SuperCab. However, it's limited relative to other F-150s due to how soft the suspension is rather than power, transmission, etc. Airbags fix that but then limit suspension travel offroad so a better solution is a rear frame reinforcement with Fox air bumps. The beauty with that is you can swap in 4" bumps when your towing and then go back to the the 2.5" for every day driving and offroading.
is a little video on it. The other option would be to get a stiffer rear spring pack.
My trucks handles a 2K steel open trailer with 3.5K of car and tools w/o out a problem. 75 MPH on the freeway and it doesn't even feel like there is anything back there. Funny thing is that mileage doesn't even move from my daily street average of 10.3 MPG (thanks San Francisco and heavy right foot).
At the end of the day, I know I am really pushing it with a 24' but there are other guys with Raptors out there that are towing 8-10K w/o problem. I don't love the situation but seeing that I really won't be towing more than 200 miles one way, I think I might be able to get a way with it. Yes, a 3/4 ton would be a much better solution.
So the question for you guys is, should I stop kidding myself and stick with a 20'?
