RAD, NASA TT guys - New TT3 class
Buddy of mine just pointed this out to me, not sure how the heck I missed it.
I've been wanting to try my hand at TTS for the past couple of seasons, but it always seemed as though it was just too tough of a fight against the corvette's for me to ever justify it. (I'm too competative to compete for
BUT things have chagned for 2013 and I think our beloved GT3's / RS's will be much more competative cars now.
So TTS is gone and is now TT2 which has moved from 8.7 to 8.0:1
TTA is gone and the new TT3 class in it's place but not points based it's weight/hp based at 9.0:1
Now there is a mod factor for non factory aero, but I think our aero beetles can run stock aero just fine and this actually brings the competition back to us a little bit in this class because guys either have to get rid of their big wing's and splitters or run at 9.5:1
To anyone that knows the rules a little better than me, am I missing anything that like in the past would just kill our cars and make them uncompetative? I'm thinking this new rule set for TT3 brought the field back to us a little and I'm more tempted than ever to mount up some sticky tires and give it a go. I'm sure the 'vette's will still be killer but maybe we've got a little more chance now.

The old TTA rules were trash and Corvette biased. They automatically put a 996 GT3 with a 385 hp 3.6 liter flat six into SUR (meaning can only run TTS, TTU or TTR) but then put a C5 Z06 with a 5.7 L V8 in TTA to run amuck. Complete nonsense.
Anyways, would be good to see some more P-cars running with us in TT. Right now all I know of in the SE area are Ed Oblow, who I haven't seen in a long time in his 996 C2, myself and Troy Talamentez in his .2 RS stripper.
If they had the TT2 rules before I may have kept my car more stockish rather than chasing after all these stupidly built Corvettes. Oh well, still lots of fun. Warning though, some of our local TT3 cars will be probably be running 1:29's at Road Atlanta this year.
