I want another 911 for daily commuting. The GT3 has always been a car I lusted for which ironically I've never driven until now. Clutch was super heavy. I've driven a lot of manual performance cars and never have I had this much trouble with the pedal. The ride was super stiff too. Other than these two gripes the car was wonderful. I know I'm not that old! Spoke with a friend who had a 997GT3 and has a 997TT and he echoed my review.

so...is the clutch going bad? maybe I need to adjust suspension?

The clutch pedal is heavy. You'll get used to it and start thinking that EVERY OTHER clutch is going bad.

Was the sport suspension button on? In comfort mode, it's really not that bad.

The clutch isn't an issue after a short while. The ride is going to be stiff that's part of what makes it a GT3. The street ride may be better in a Gen 2 though.
I love mine but would not want to daily commute in it.

I've driven mine about 12K miles in the first year including a couple of long trips. The clutch is heavy but honestly, I don't think about it much at all anymore. Mine is a gen 2 and I find the ride very livable as well. A little firmer and I'd probably be less happy. I love the whole package of this car so much that those things really don't bother me.

I agree that in my 997.2, the clutch is relatively heavy and the ride and suspension much tighter than what I prefer in a daily driver. I actually have a same year GTS cab that is much more of a daily driver, although there is plenty of power and handling available (not comparable to the GT3, but I am not interested in driving the GT3 on the street like I drive it on the track).

Thus, my GTS is an occassional DD and my GT3, now put away for the winter, is mostly used to drive to and from and at the track.

The clutch is not as stiff as what came on 1960s/70s muscle cars. I think it's just what you are used to driving. Don't worry, you'll get used to it quickly.

I didn't love the stock .1 RS suspension. IMO, it feels better in every way with monoballs, and that includes daily driving it for the last 8 months.

I bought a 997.1 GT3 a few months ago and found the clutch stiff at first also. You get used to it, and I don't even think about it now. The clutch and ride quality is better than the 996 GT3's I've driven, in comparison.

guess I'm among the minority that doesn't find the clutch stiff/heavy. but I've only ever owned manual cars so perhaps that's skewing my data set.

suspension is stiff for the road but there are solutions for that if it bothers you.

The GT3 clutch is heavy. Sucks in bumper to bumper traffic. Suspension is also sport tuned thus stiff.

You can daily drive it but at times it is comparable to daily driving a 73'RS..... you gotta want it.

I would suggest PDK C4S for daily....

Any idea how many owners this car has been through? There was a black 7.1 w/ceramics that bounced around various Houston dealerships and was driven by lord knows how many people (including myself). Probably not the same one, but worth a check.

Wife says the clutch is too heavy compared to her Boxster so that is a bonus. Really. Drove the GT3 during a dry day 3 wks ago and clutch was heavy but as others have said you get used to it. Put away for the winter now.
Now the left leg gets atrophied with my C4S pdk with winter wheels/tires as my DD
But honestly, wife already said she supports the winter project of coolant fittings welding/oil pipe elbow/heat exchanger pipe swap so its cool.
