Makes perfect sense. 2010 GT3 wheels fall off (non RS only) some due to misusing some maybe not. They finally figured it out and are fixing it. Better late than never. Love Porsche and their warranty / goodwill program, even after tracking the car. Love the CL also, I think they are cool and easy to deal with but can see why most prefer 5 lug.

no wonder, dave. it's 25,657,440 steps.
you are missing the crucial 3 steps.
you must read the manual more thoroughly.

"component stress associated with racetrack use and competitive driving are much higher then that experienced when driving in a lawful manner on public roads. we have determined that when a porsche 911 vehicle with central locking wheel hubs is driven in an unusually aggressive manner, the stresses which can be imparted to vehicle components can come close to that experienced in racetrack conditions. this means that not only is more stringent maintenance required, but also, as a precautionary measure, the replacement of the wheel hubs on the rear axle"

so, in other words:
- all CL cars will now have to replace rear hubs every 2 years or every 10,000 miles or every 20 trackdays
- and since we used words like "unusually aggressive manner", "lawful manner", "competitive driving" - if you happened to have a wheel leave your car driving at a DE we are not going to pay for your destroyed car

Maintenance schedule for CL cars is now going to mean you are paying for new hardware and 11 hours of install labor ever 2 years or you insurance company is not going to cover you - priceless

Why does Porsche seem to ignore any center lock recalls or updates to Carrera GTS, Turbo or TurboS cars that use center locks? Are these cars using different parts....the center lock itself is exactly the same as GT3 cars.

Thoughts:
- GTS's were produced after the change in torque spec (or did yours come with the old torque spec too?)
- Chassis is a WB vs. NB; seems the failures on on NB chassis cars?

Ok, my wild *** guess quotient is all used up for today.
