new TPMS sensors, still not reading
MY TPMS batteries were dead and so I put in new sensors yesterday during a tire change. However, it is still not reading, saying inactive. Any ideas whats happening or what I need to do?

How far have you driven since you put the new sensors on? My car took a few miles before the "inactive" warning went away. Not sure if there's any type of reset necessary.

Ive driven 10 miles so far

They work on 2 frequencies.... Did you have the units with the correct frequency installed?

How am I suppose to test/figure that out?
|
try initializing them again?

Hope this makes sense :) |
Ok so im stumped, I have tried increasing the tire pressures over the setting, i have switched between winter tires and summer tires settings. I have also confirmed with the dealer the correct MHZ and have verified that I have the correct sensors installed, and still I can not get it to read. Any thoughts?

I recently had mine changed and had to drive around 20 miles or so for them to get registered. Did you get OE or aftermarket sensors? I got mine from suncoast.
By any chance you don't have the old sensors sitting in your frunk, right? I've heard having more than 4 sensors in close proximity to the car can confuse the system. |

Only 10 or 20 miles!! Took me 3days and 50-60 miles with many start stops. Even after track day with low tire pressure, it may take two days before the computer reads properly. Sometimes immediately.

You must put in OEM sensors.....I played the same game you are playing now. Replacing the aftermarket sensors with the correct OEM units fixed the problem.

Looks like my driver front sensor battery is dead now and about to be in same boat for replacement. Tye, did you ever get this working? Porsche wants $413 PER WHEEL (parts and labor). I see online aftermarket sensors cost about $80. They're saying OEM is $220 for the sensor and $40 for the stem.
