Any one here that doesn't track their GT3?

Terry, if you would just drive with 1 hand like Clarke, and instantly let go the wheel entirely and allow the car's caster to do the counter steering instead of using the 9&3 hand position technique, then you too could stomp on the throttle whenever you'd like.
I have no idea why everyone doesn't drive this way - oops, I forgot, they'd be dead or they would total their car.
<---- that's the 1 hand driving wonder

LOL... great thread!
I'm 62 and lovin' every minute in my car!
Buy it, drive it, a real drivers car, does not matter a hoot if you track it or not.
The car is a thrill!

u are only as old as you think you are.
i am 40 something. but every treats me like i am 5 year old and i love every minute of it.
buy the car, drive it.
i do track, but guess what, i came from the concourse scene where my cars are always under car cover, they only time it's not covered is when i am detailing it....
today, i drive it and tail gate whatever in front of me. chips.... what chips.
it's your money, you passion. get what you like do what you want with it.

Three Wheelin'
Buy that sweet GT3 before someone on this forum tries to get it first! Any 997 GT3 is comfortable and fun on the street. And, although you don't NEED to track it to thoroughly enjoy it, I think that you will find that the car absolutely comes ALIVE on the track.... a whole different level of performance and excitement.
P.S.- keep the '87.... its a beauty and a classic!

Buy the GT3.
I only have the time to run a few track days per year with my RS.1 & almost all of my driving is on the street.
The sound, the feel, the handling is unsurpassed; if you drive it on a twisty road you will be in love!

You came to the wrong forum to get talked out of buying a gt3.
I will play devils advocate - you are old and your extended family wants your money when you die so don't buy the car.
Personally, if I could chose my way to go, it would be to spend the entire day with my extended family and friends all driving gt3s at the green monster and then have all 6 coolant fittings come lose and explode the coolant on the rear tires just as I posted at PB and then leave the track at some amazing speed due to ABS ice-mode being trigger when I stabbed the brake pedal preventing me from safely slowing the car. I would like a painless death however - and when parting out the car afterwards the Guard LSD has already been spoken for.

I am 50 and I bought my GT3 for the thrill of driving w/o ever taking it to a track....Best PCar I have ever owned, even has RS Clutch and Flywheel.
My advice...buy the GT3...you will kick yourself every time you think about it.
Beautiful 87 by the way....
