RS.2 Rear Window Blow Out!
Driving home today, accelerating hard with my windows open and suddenly the rear window blows out! On inspection, it looks like it was not the whole window. Seriously - tell me this is a one off?
|
woah - that's nuts. you literally blew your windows out. next up.... doors?
any damage to the rear wing, etc? |
I couldn't stand the wind buffering around in the RS when I was tracking it. Porsche should come up with some solution (possibly rear side windows opening) other than the window flying out. You may consider just leaving it out though lol ;)

do you have the light weight euro rear window?

:(
It's one piece. The glue just held the edges there. It probably separated in one of the fatigue crests created by the continuous in-out flexing. Sort of like bending a rigid plastic many times to the point of failure. Hopefully you didn't kill anybody driving behind you. Get a new window and if you have comprehensive coverage, tell the insurance that God took it. : ) You may also try Porsche and your warranty. ps. Can I say "I told you so"?

It's normal.
Rear oem one flexes. With an open window I think it will fly off. Same goes for the plastic rear side windows. Get the old rear screen bars. |
Do you have a center muffler bypass ans or single layer tip ?
|
Interesting .... I've never seen that in street cars, just on Cups.
|
Well at least the car is lighter....
