991 GT3 Spec - Porsche Please Read
Let's get this one right from the start....
Must haves:
100-150lb weight reduction over Carrera S - relatively easy to achieve with lighter seats, lightweight flywheel, Ti exhaust, lightweight battery, CF body panels, etc.
480-500hp
Brake calipers that facilitate quick, easy pad changes
Dynamic engine mounts separated from Sport Chrono option
Factory installed rollbar mounting plates
Hydraulic steering (or worst case Cup car electric steering system)
True dry sump system
Motorsport ABS
5-lug wheels
Manual transmission that allows selection of any gear anytime
Lightweight single-mass flywheel
10" wide front wheels with 265 section tires
12" rear wheels with 325 section tires
Clubsport seat option (not all Americans are fat)
Normal handbrake
Monoball suspension
Integrated aero
Nice to have:
Cockpit adjustable sway bars
Que the Rad 3yr proven race history.... Personally, I don't feel like waiting.

Great thread ! Letter to Porsche!
I'm giving serious thought... to sticking it on the top.
+1 to Nizer's list
and
All electronics should / must be switchable.
And off means OFF!
And no PASM
real suspension
and no active anti roll bars
And make the weight -250 pounds. That's very easy with the new 90kg lighter body.
Most importantly : R A C E it first please. (which means dry sump, 9k motor, no playstation steering etc etc)
Great thread. I pulled over to type this. Ignore the typos

I will take the motorsport unit over a defeatable system. Reason being is our street cars have a single master cylinder. Cup cars and most racecars have a dual master setup with non assist. This setup works better without ABS.

Thinner carpet
Carbon roof/front/rear and wing(front/rear)bonnets
Get rid off all nannies ie 2 way adjustable with reservoirs
A functional and durable LSD (PAG- call Matt of GT- he'll make a proper LSD)
A abs system switchable from street/race
Monoballs
Hydraulic steering unless cup version
5 lug or even better go to studs
I want a 5 speed box- who needs 6 or 7 for track and make it close ratio
Cup cables with aluminum shifter box
Only 2 airbags and defeatable for trackdays
Option for a track safety pack ie cage/seats- I sign the waiver
Lw ac with only one vent to driver : ).
True dry sump
No radio
Darn too much to list. Mike

Agree with all listed above, though the HP is not a must considering the LW spec of this non existing car. I'd be perfectly happy with 450hp the 997.2 RS has
I don't see Porsche going for a $6k 2 way adjustable suspension anytime soon, but I'm perfectly OK with them going back to non-electronic coilovers (996 style). Too expensive for production cars, unless people agree to pay close to a cup car price.
Monoballs will not be on the car either for sure for comfort purposes. Not that I really care, I have them on my car right now. I wish they would...
Pretty much all people have listed are easily doable as long as Porsche wants to, it's just a matter of how much they're willing to spend on the production car and how much they can sell them for.
Also, the most importantly: Deny the right to purchase to people and dealers that fill these cars with options! Tell them to go buy a C2S!

3000 lbs or thereabouts
500 hp or thereabouts
proper dry sump
proper LSD
no PASM
no PDCC, torque vectoring
TC/PSM off (really off)
Clubsport option
maintain suspension adjustability
no electric steering or at worst cup car steering (as has been mentioned)
close ratio 7-speed semi-automatic paddle shift transmission (not PDK, more like GT3R). Yes, blasphemy, sacrelige, etc, but having driven a few paddle-shift race cars I'm sorta hooked.
proper coolant hoses and fittings
5 lug
single mass, light flywheel
lightweight wheels
slotted brakes
reduced brake booster (higher pedal pressure)
8500rpm+
lightweight battery
semi solid engine mounts
no sunroof
500 hp or thereabouts

proper LSD

I agree with all the above.
Charge us more to take stuff out is OK, charge us more to put stuff in is OK too.
Clubsport $$ option
Motorsport ABS $$ option
Take out radio, CL, A/C $$ option
CF roof and fenders $$ option
All OK, just make it possible.
Don't be greedy a$$holses and charge 5K for a color that costs the same to put on, like 5K white on the .1RS or 3K for grey in the .2RS, then make .2RS white no charge and metallic blue no charge.
1. It must be very durable on track.
2. It must be lighter
3. It does not have to be faster for now if that means we get 1 and 2.
Just fix what needs fixing from 997RS and 991 C2S.
