Default Sebring Chin 0324/25.2012

Sly & I did our first Chin event this past weekend. And it was at our fav track - Sebring. Chin has a responsible "adult" rule package/style. 3 run groups leaves lots of track time. Plus 1 hour "Happy Hour" for everyone at the end of the day.

One of the rules we loved: any solo driver can ride with any solo driver. Fauk yeh!

On Sunday Sly and I rode with each other all day long. I went out with Sly in the GT3 and wow!!! this girl can drive. Sly went out with me in the GT3 and after the session threw up. lol. Asked her if she was okay and she said yes. I asked why puke? She said riding shot-gun with me was "violent". rotflmao.

Video to come (driving, not throwup)

another awesome rule - RED run group (Advanced solo, pass anywhere) -- MANDATORY passing signals. Yes, mandatory. At meeting they said if you make a car have to slow down and follow you then you are doing it wrong. Also said if two cars are behind you then you will be blackflagged and immediately dropped into BLUE run group (intermediate solo).

+1, Chin has a very nice formula for lots of track time for advanced drivers, no racing

CHIN - nothing like a for-profit business taking care of customer wants and needs!!!! Keeps them coming back. We are already signed up for repeat with Chin next month at Sebring.

I love Chin events. Well-organized, tons of track time, less traffic than your average DE, and yes the solos can have a passenger without having to deal with the chore of instructing. In many local club events I go to, only instructors have the privilege to have non-instructor passengers, which sucks. I do realize it's their way to have enough instructors available since many would rather not instruct and relax during the downtime than get into a student's car, especially during the hot days. Next Chin event will be Watkins Glen in May for me. Looks like Chin is doing 15 Sebring days this year. Might have to make the trip down one of these days.

Nice seeing you Clarke and giving you a few point bye's too. Yes Cin is the best when it comes to DE's and they run the event run group times very well.

whoa whoa whoa, hold on the phone!

Who said anything about spinning. I merely drifted through Turn 1 at 90 mph, and "maybe" went off a little at Turn 13. The important thing here is spinning is bad. Almost spinning is ok, but dont spin. Right?

I have never done Chin. In the Northeast they were popular for their slow pace, and I can't pay to run a DE behind a multitude of pace cars, no fun.

Is Chin in Florida different?

Talking

Greek did not spin but he did cause his passenger to pucker up just a bit through 1.

Chin is great. Beats the hell out of PCA. The ride along rule is great. My wife came down for the first time to the track. She road with me for two laps and told me I needed something safer. Deputy Dog tried to blow it but now she is convinced that I can only get a roll bar and harnesses in a GT3.

Chin in Florida? There is only one Chin.

Mandatory passing ANYWHERE. I assume the pass and head that way and the hand comes out the window before I get to the other car. All but 2 or 3 times the whole weekend I never had to lift coming up on other cars. That is a WIN WIN WIN !!!
