I was browsing Porsche Germany website, when I found this 997 GT2, with pictures showing back lights (brake lights - see image of rear end), type 997.2 !!

Though not fluent in German, yet can see car was registered ( model year) 2008!

Did some cars in the German market have advanced 997.2 body outfit on their 08 GT2 vehicles !

Or was it simply a matter of dealer/owner changing rear bumper + lights!!

Your link is to a GT3 and yes the later ones did get the new brake lights as did the GT2 RS.

They can be retrofitted to a GT2 by using the RS rear bumper like this

Guys! The link above, just clicked on dozen times!! for 997 GT2, not GT3 !!

Am I seeing things differently? or what!

* TB993tt - can you point to any source on the web, which states what you mention about later GT2's having the 997.2 back lights!

Far as I am aware, 997 GT2 production was in 2008/2009 only. And none of them 09's had the 997.2 back lights.

What he was saying was all 997.2 GT3's and GT3 RS's have the LED brake lights as well as the GT2 RS. No 08/09 GT2's have the LED brake lights. It is not that uncommon to see 997.1 generation Porsche's updated with the 997.2 brake lights.

It has GT2RS bumper and 997.2 LEds.. which is just changing the lights and bumper for the 997.2 looks , also the front LEDs look like techart? looks like the engine is modified or was modified.. exhaust tips diffrent , carbon wheel arches + carbon front splitter

Hi Guys

My 997.2 British Delivered GT2 Model Year 2009 number 6092
left the factory with LED rear Brake lights as pictured above GT2.
'Also confirmed this Porsche' that its a Factory install not dealer!

Don't think it did Ben, my '09 UK car is number 6239 and it had the .1 lights.

Yours was likely converted by someone else, is it white ? there were a few white ones converted by Fearnsport - do you have any pics ?

Edit - the .2 lights needed the GT2RS bumper otherwise they wouldn't fit and the GT2RS bumper was not available until 2010..... pics if you can
