997.1 GT3 center caps - black >>
 

Hey guys - I'm out of state for a couple weeks so the GT3 is on jackstands in the garage (good theft deterrent) and the wheels are out for refinishing. They are currently the OEM black and I'm refinishing with the same color, however, they will not refinish the centercaps because they are plastic - the caps are currently black, but it looks the previous owner painted the lettering white by hand (they should keep their day jobs ;) .

In the off-chance they actually paint the wheels the correct black, my concern is the center caps will not match. I can't find new black GT3 center caps anywhere.

So - my questions are:

+ does anyone know where I can find these in black (negative of the below - black cap / white lettering)

+ does anyone know what color I can paint the existing caps to match the OEM paint - what is the best way to mask out lettering?

too my knowledge 'black' caps are not available from the factory ... :(

GT3s with the IXD9 option (wheels painted in body color) always have the Porsche logo on the caps.

Blacks caps were available for the GT3RS cars that came with black wheels with either green or orange RS logo.


To the OP: your wheels are not factory painted wheels..unless the previous owner:
A. paid for them in the exclusive program
B. exchanged his silver or white wheels with OEM blacks

C. simply painted his silver or white wheels black. : )
