How pissed would you be if one fell off or worse if someone pinched them???
Since they are taped on, I'm just going to steal Peters the next time we're at Sebring and repaint them yellow

One would have to wonder how much add'l downforce (kg's) coud be transmitted via a few square inches of double side tape before they let go.

Maybe best to search for cheap flics on the track shoulders before laying out 500$ ?

I thought the principle was that the flics directed the airflow down the sides of the car (away from the turbulent wheel wells) and it was the redirection which gave the downforce rather than the actual push downwards of the air on said flics ?

Now those are proper dive planes, and at a reasonable price no less!

But, but, but, unfortunately Porsche has not tested and approved these for use on our cars.

Best play it safe and buy the wimpy 4.0 planes.

Anyone with the dive planes actually notice a difference?

I remember reading a post by someone who went to home depot, spent like $10 (maybe $20) and said they helped keep it stable under heavy braking.

I'm afraid I was weak and succumbed ... its the closest I will come to 4.0 ownership!

Damn- don't get me started today

I think you seriously underestimate the cost of ownership of a GT-R.

Go to your local Nissan dealer and ask them what a GT-R bumper costs, or a new wheel.

About those 40 minutes, make that 4 laps before:
- brakes overheat
- Transmission fluid overheats

(talking about a stock MY09-10 GTR with 480hp)

Actually seems like a bargain. The red stripe on the center of the steering wheels costs $420. Nearly the same price to get the dive planes and they actually give you a benefit.

GTR was designed for one fast blast around the Ring.....then park it until all fluids cool off

I see them overheat at Sebring all the time.....junk

I'm no aerodynamicist, but my understanding says you're on the right track.

The redirected airflow over the wheel wells helps reduce lift, not really induce downforce. I've attached another pic from a damp day at the track, that illustrates the airflow over the wheel well.

Of course there will also be some downforce created at the dive plane.

I could feel the huge improvement in front downforce in my 4.0 LE Gold series 3.8 Eco special going 65MPH on the free way from the shop to home
