cayman r. sat in one on the weekend - the finish and detailing is superb, but most importantly, it fits like a glove. it's like a well-tailored suit, sorry to say, but the tourer-spec gt3 felt like some baggy jeans in comparison!!!!! it felt as big as a sedan in comparison. but, it's all about that motor; if only they'd put the 408hp x51 into the r...!

I just bought a higher mileage, but near mint 993TT. I'm excited everytime I drive the car. Extremely fast, head turner everywhere you go. Buy a higher mileage, and you won't be scared to drive the $$ out of it. May get what you paid for it, or more when you sell it in two years when the 4.0 comes.
good call. I agree 100%. My 930 turbo had less than 20k miles on it. I spent some $$ stopping leaks, new stereo, tighter torsion bars, better headlights, etc. and I drove it as a daily for over a year! People thought I was crazy! But man was it fun! That is the one sale I regret the most. Older cars have such soul...

Newport Porsche has a black R and it's beautiful! I really like the Cayman... just feel the open-air cockpit of the Spyder seems more enjoyable for cruising. However, I did sit in the R and it felt really, really good. For an average-sized person, Cayman is very, very NICE and sized perfectly.

I do agree with the Audi comments. Owned an RS4... was nice, but snooze-fest. I assumed R8 would be more alive, given MR platform. I sat in one and it felt large. And inside looked too futuristic... but build quality was top-notch.

I have an event next weekend w/POC... so maybe after driving my Cup, the withdrawals will have subsided... but we are heading into summer, where events are non-existant... so I don't how I'm going to cope until Sept.

I drove the v8 R8 on the track and mooty your right, that was a huge yawn fest. I thought the v10 would hopefully put a little smile on teh face.
Sounds like it down to porsches only. 993, GTS, or cayman R. However, if it doesn't have to be a convertible or need back seats. There is always the CLK black series, and I'm not being biased. Hehe
