Default Private Lapping Day at Oregon Raceway Park

A few of us from the Vancouver, BC area rented ORP for a day. You can run in clockwise or counterclockwise. We ran CCW that day. This is an amazing track and I encourage anyone to make the trek to run it, it's well worth it. Most of us drove at least 7hrs for the day and it was well worth it.

Thanks to James (Scan Automotive) and Nan (Nan P) for their efforts in organizing this!

I had been to this track once before but running the other direction.

7 of us took over a motel in a small town 9 miles from the track. Not a bad sight to wake up to! A few RL's present. Myself in the black GT3 front left, tcsracing1 in the orange RS and Nan P in the white RS (in the corner). I didn't catch if the others were on the board.

Here's the full crew prepping at the track:

Here's some footage of my last session.

Running an AIM EVO-4 logger (followed fc-racer's setup) and used trackvision to overlay the data on my gopro video. The overlay is packaged with trackvision which I belive fc-racer created for them.

Yeah, would be nice to have a top knotch track. Not sure anything can be done with mission given the small area.

We're lucky to at least have some better tracks within driving distance!

Great video set up!

It was a good day with great cars and people. We all had a blast and even though i got a little motion sick with the ups and downs i managed to pull together a few decent laps that made the trip totally worth while.

Super clean track and with only a few cars it was unlimited lapping.

A new 2.5 mile track in Shelton, Washington is being built as we speak.

more good times to come!

We got super lucky with the weather and a great group of folks. I had a really great time, and it was fun showing the guys around the track in their cars too (the Mustang was actually pretty fun to drive, even though the brakes were not so hot).

I take Gravol every time there (only track that I've ever had to), the alternative doesn't bode well for alcantara and leather...

Doublej,

It didn't take you very long to get back to ORP, did you try some different tires this time?

The track looks very interesting in the CCW direction, it seems to have some off camber turns that might be a little more challenging in that direction.

I'm hoping to get back some time over this summer but not sure when. This is a great track with lots of twist & turns to keep you very focused.

I managed to get my traqmate data loaded up on my lap top and looks like I managed a 1:53.89 as a best lap time when we were there in early May, i was happy with that but hope to improved on it next time I'm there.

I used th same tires, although nursed them a bit this time around and made sure I watched pressures more closely.

You looked like you were moving pretty quickly when we were there early May and I'm sure you further improved the following day after I left.

I think I like CCW a bit better and the off-camber corners feel better this way (to me anyway). Fun no matter which way you go really but CCW feels best to me.

Can't wait to go back and work on it more!

ORP looks like a great track. Haven't tried it yet but would be interested in joining in for a lapping day. Send me a pm will you when the group arranges another day? A bunch of us used to rent Spokane Raceway for two day stints several times per summer and it was a great time.

I'm curious where you get gas. I checked on Google Earth in the past and all I could find was a small no-name gas station in Grass Valley. The image on GE doesn't even show the track so it is somewhat out of date. Maybe there are more options?

Thanks
