Yeah but the time can go to researching mods.

I just found this one of Mosport - you are inside a E30 M3 racecar. His lines are very, very good. When other cars are around him, he puts his car in the correct spots and you can see the difference. Looks like he is doing around 1:28s. A DE pace in advanced groups with GT3s is 1:32 - 1:140. With Hoosiers R6s and leaving lots of safety margin - a 1:35 is a fast and safe DE lap - a pro can put down a 1:30 in a stock 2010 GT3/Rs with Hoosiers for reference.

Now you have to imagine the elevation changes being 4x what it looks like on film and the fear that can put into you. It is possible to 'almost' take Turn 4 flat in 4th. Look up the gearing of a gt3 and ask yourself if you could go over the top of a blind ski hill in 4th and hope it sticks. I once got a ride in a car with an ex motorcycle racer who was use to doing 1:17s on his bike and every single lap we went over 4 at WOT with no braking - he counter steered the whole way down - I thought we were dead every time - to him it was slow.

Its a truly great old school track. Its not in a beautiful location like Tremblant, new like Calabogie or a destination like Watkins Glen (3 of my other favorites), its just a brutally fast and scary track. For those that aren't local, put it on your life's list as a 1x must do.

Even in my dreams, with my eyes closed, I still cannot go over 4th Flat as my stomach just falls to the floor.

... and then there's 2 and 4 in the wet. A whole other experience.

Edit to add reason: Both downhill off-camber (not so much 4) left-handers, where gravity is pulling you in one direction, you have to go in the other, and how much grip is available is, well, a bit of a guess/gamble.

2 and 4 are not off-camber. Almost no banking but not off-camber.

Many people mistake flat corners for off-camber. Very natural thing to do when comparing to banked corners (most track curves are banked to some degree).

It's only on foot that you can tell if it's orientation. Even then it can be tricky.

But yes, 2 and 4 collected many cars and even some lives. If you don't respect them you will pay.

Damn, that's one hell of an ambitious schedule! But I wish you guys safe travels, fast driving (on track), and lots of fun and stories to tell when you get back. I'd join in on an event or three if July wasn't my b-day month. Unfortunately, I already have lots of obligations in addition, but RA or Autobahn might be a possibility if I play my cards right.
