Default Ditching stock pads... What to get and from where?

The car sees moderate track time. I've run through my second set of stock pads.

Time for an upgrade.

I'm assuming most will suggest pagid yellows. Are there two versions of the yellow? 19 or 29? If so, which one?

Lastly, who's got the best pricing?

Thanks.

A

My stock pads are yellow and probably made by pagid, but I'm pretty certain they are not the same as their racing compounds. ie they never squeal

According to Porsche the oem (yellow) ones are suitable for mixed use.

I used them last week for a track day, and they do work well, but under high heat and heavy braking i could notice that i wasnt on RS29's.......

Im going back to RS29's and squealing

OP said moderate track time..
Assuming that the Porsche oem yellows are not identical to the Pagid yellows; How well will the RS-19 / 29 perform when not in the track but cold in the street.

And from Pagid UK

RS29
Friction Level

Cold 0.40
At 100°C 0.43
At 300°C 0.47
Max at (@ 550°C) 0.49
Constant working temperature: 400 – 700°C
Max temperature for short period only: 750°C

And from Pagid Germany a better 3D table

Had a local tech session by a Pagid engineer direct from the mother land a few weeks ago:

- P29 = a bit more initial bite
- P19 = Better release + Better feel (according to an experienced 6 GT3 driver who has used both)

RS19:

RS19 is a development from RS14, a reduction
of the friction level has resulted in a very stable
friction level and a major increase in pad and
disc life.
This material provides very good levels of
performance and response at all temperature
levels, only slight temperature inputs are
required to bring the pad up to its optimum
performance level. A true favourite with
endurance racers having won many classes at all major endurance events, including GT class
victories at the Le-Mans 24 hours race from 1999 – 2006, plus many victories at other blue
ribbon events such as Daytona, Spa, Nurburgring, etc. Due to the exceptional pad life and
very low wear on brake discs it has been possible to run 24 hours with out a change of pads or
discs.
Although designed primarily for endurance racing, because of the consistent levels of
performance and user friendliness many competitors use this material successfully for sprint
and short distance races also. RS19 has also found favour in the growing track day market
due to the level of control, good cold performance, long life and low disc wear.
Many major track day operator fleets have seen the benefit of using PAGID pads for corporate
track days, while not being the cheapest brake pads on the market, we have proved that due
to the longer life and less disc wear in comparison to other competitor’s product, running costs
can be reduced in comparison to cheaper, inferior products.

RS29:

RS29 is a direct development of RS19, with a
very similar friction coefficient to RS19,
improvements in initial bite offering quicker
response and slightly more temperature stable
at the upper levels of the temperature range.
Developments in raw material selection and
compounding have resulted in improvements
also in pedal feel and feedback, helping with
modulation particularly on lighter applications.

This material provides very good levels of
performance and response at all temperature
levels, only slight temperature inputs are
required to bring the pad up to its optimum
performance level. Another favourite with endurance racers having won many classes at all
major endurance events, such as Le-Mans, Daytona, Spa, Nurburgring, etc. Due to the
exceptional pad life and very low wear on brake discs it has been possible to run 24 hours with
out a change of pads or discs. Able to withstand slightly higher disc temperatures than RS19,
this has proved more suitable for applications running very high disc temperatures.
Although designed primarily for endurance racing, because of the consistent levels of
performance and user friendliness many competitors use this material successfully for sprint
and short distance races also. This has been seen in British GT Cup class, winning the
Championship for the last 3 years in races averaging 1-2 hours in duration. RS29 has also
found favour in the growing track day market due to the level of control, good cold
performance, long life and low disc wear.
The same applies to major track day operator fleets who have seen the benefits of using PAGID
pads for corporate track days as an alternative to RS19 in various applications. While not
being the cheapest brake pads on the market, we have proved that due to the longer life and
less disc wear in comparison to other competitor’s product, running costs can be reduced in
comparison to cheaper, inferior products.
It is clear that the customer should look beyond the initial purchase price and make an
accurate comparison with other competitor’s products to find the most cost effective braking
solution. When compared to cheaper pads that wear more quickly and reduce disc life, and
may also not perform consistently to the same level, the initially more costly product can often
work out to be cheaper when calculated over the entire season.

Dog, I get great prices and service from OG Racing on my Pagids. Also Lindsy Racing and Apex Performance are great pleaces to do business with for Pagid or Performance Friction.

Get with Izzone on Endless pads and were he gets his. He and a few other love them and I am going to either Endless or Performance Friction for my next set of pads. Also Gavin down at Auto Quest would be good to ask about pads for your GT3.
