Targa Newfoundland - thoughts? experiences?

It seems like reverse gear is the preferred choice on some corners...
Tom, given your experience I'm interested to know if you do these events with or without support and if so who does this for you? Most of the guys I know who have done Targa NZ or Tasmania utilise professional support offered by shops/teams who also prepare cars for these events.

A van or pick-up is a good chase vehicle. Especially with open trailer for emergency.
One crew member, preferably the van/truck driver, is also the mechanic, but as long as he carries the tools and few spares you can perform the work yourself on the road.
I had help over the years from other crews that had the time to help me with basic things when they were not busy supporting their own car.
