If yes I think we have the only clear photo in existence.
All of the other time, he was talking on the security mic heads down. : )
From that fuzzy, out of focus photograph, I think you're buying your lenses from somewhere in the tourist regions of Scotland.

I'm sure ADias has the correct spy photo.

based on that article you could also interpret it as mclaren not wanting to give the early reviewers the 'secret code' to turn it off, perhaps that will change with owners? seems odd for a sports car maker to stick to a policy of driver-aids only.

plus you can be sure someone will find a hack to deactivate these things!

...even in Track mode, the ESP system doesn’t allow an inordinate amount of slip and will be reined in even further for production. If you want to switch it off, you need to enter some special cheat code while parked that McLaren wouldn’t reveal.(from http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Drives/...R-review-2011/)
There you go. All you have to do is bribe the "special cheat code" out of them

the codes are an "optional extra" obviously

all in all, it looks like classic in the making...

Having been a right seat babysitter for journos testing a new model, I think that Mac did the right thing by leaving stability management on

I also believe that they will treat warranty claims on tracked cars they same way Porsche does. No problem unless there is obvious abuse. If you read the warranty book for a GT3 (for example) coverage is denied even for DEs, in fact it says so expressly. In reality, dealers cover failures unless the car has been abused.

The good news is that PAG is going to have to raise their game which has to be a benefit to us.

Best,

There are some very strong words in these reviews. In fact I don't honestly recall ever reading car reviews that are so intensely positive.

It is clearly technically genius and very very good but I (without having driven it of course) still cant warm to it at all. The reviews seem to suggest that it lacks character for all its brilliance and for this money that is important. It may be faster than the 458 but that is already so fast that it becomes irrelevant really especially on a road car and I can't begin to think how they signed it off looking like it does, it looks so boring and generic, like a Lotus or even some new Toyota sports car. The name is so unemotional too.

I am glad to see British engineering showing the world the way but I can't warm to Mclaren the team in F1 and I can't warm to the MP4. The team colour is grey and thats how I see Mclaren, genius and I have a lot of respect for them but I don't feel any passion for them.

For me it is summed up by this: If the 458 Italia and the MP4-12C were women which one would you rather have an affair with?

Nicely put however you have to consider the baggage that comes with it and, in this case it's the dealer. My Ferrari dealer is hopeless whereas the McLaren dealer has been outstanding. I know who I'd rather be 'stuck' with. I can't be bothered with a dealer who can't return calls/emails so I cancelled an order for the 458 last week.

In simple Porsche terms, I suppose this is a bit similar to the difference between the 997 Turbo and the GT3.

I agree that the McLaren dealership experience will likely be far better than Ferrari or any other manufacturer. It appears some Ferrari dealers seem to think it is a privilege to buy a Ferrari from them. I know I got that feeling when I was considering an F430. I don't think McLaren is going to function that way. I am registered on the McLaren website and received a call a few weeks ago about potentially placing an order. For the time being, I am going to wait a bit.
