Default OEM Front Axle lift system- retrofittable?

Hello everyone! After years of reading the gt3 threads I decided to buy one

Finally my mk2 gt3 arrived from Germany after 3 months of wait

I bought the car with the lift system but unfortuneatly its not there..Now the dealer wants to refund the lift option. (What an idiot) ....
Is it possible to fit the oem lift system?

I have never heard of anyone doing this, however I would expect that the wiring harness and other electronics are already "in place" to enable this (its claimed that you can retrofit PDEM similarly). Since Cargraphic have a Bilstein aftermarket solution it is clearly "not impossible" ...

I should imagine however that the dealer is baulking at doing this since he will have to bare the cost of doing so.

This is just a SWAG, but 'all' it should take is the 'lift' components for the front axle, install the 'LIFT' switch in the dash and reprogram the car to understand
that this option is included ...

+1 on the Cargraphic - Bilstein airlift. Works flawlessly and is lighter than the oem however the installation is completely different between the two.

The only issue is that Cargraphic's providers, are slow on delivering replacement parts.

I have been hearing from the dealers that PDEM can be retrofitted . Can anyone confirm this?

911Slow,

Did you fit the Cargraphic/Bilstein to the stock GT3 shocks ? The Cargraphic web site seems to indicate that it only comes with a PSS kit.

Thanks,

Robin

Techart lift is miles better than cargraphic. Had both and sold the latter.

Yes it fits stock suspension.
Part number is CARALSP97GT.

Techart's and Manthey’s lifts are hydraulic units. They lift a bit faster but are heavier and for GT3's require modification in the suspension or specific suspension from the companies that sell them. I prefer the simplicity of the Cargraphic’s kit; no oil lines running around the front, fewer parts to go wrong, and very light.

If its in the negotiated price for the car you ordered, I'd press the dealer to get something installed and working for the total price you agreed. Especially since alternatives may cost you more and void your warranty. Tough way to start the ownership experience.

I am looking for used GT3s and I would be curious to hear if the installation of an aftermarket lift will void warranty (understanding this can vary dealer to dealer). Any experience with this?

Anything is retrofittable...

Keep in mind, besides the accumulator/compressor, switch and the plumbing I believe that the uprights will have to be changed as well as they are different!
