Default Beeping noise coming from RS

I got home and heard a "beeep - beeep -beeep" in the tone of a mutes smoke alarm. Its coming from the LI battery or nearby. Its cold out...40 degrees...is there a warning for the battery??? The car starts fine.

It's in the manual.
In a few words this warning means that the battery will self-destruct in 5 seconds to 5 months : )

I remember reading in the manual that the LI battery isn't supposed to be used below a certain temperature, i think it was 32F. Possibly a warning from a battery sensor?

Completely normal, just charge it up or take it for a short drive if the weather is ok. It beeps when it is down but still has enough energy to start and run. Store it with the key out of the ignition and alarm off if you can, should last 6 weeks easy that way.

Philosophically speaking, did you ever think just what would we do without the "beep" in our daily lives?

Speaking of beeps, the office I'm contracting at right now has these systems that emit a high pitched tone when a thermal event is about to happen. Something like 80% of what is considered normal maximum temp. Don't know what the hell was going on the first few weeks I was there. Normally when crap like that happens its just a simple beep. Not a "PONGGGG" that starts high then goes low.

Surprised these cars aren't talking to us. Some did back in the 80s. Guess references to Knight Rider and the book and movie Christine pigeon-holed that technology onto the creepy category!

Practically, I think you make a valid observation -- life would be dull without a good beep with the right woman from day to day.

Get a trickle charger if you don't drive it freqently....took me about a day or so to figure out where the beeping was, first time it happened...almost climbed into the attic to check it before I decided drive the car around first
