Default 997.2 Seat Removal DIY

Here I'll explain in detail how to remove the carbon bucket seats from a 997.2 GT3 (this applies to any 997 and is nearly identical for all types of seats. Only the wiring harness and seat belt mounting may be different).

Tools You'll Need:

10mm wrench
small plastic spudger (non-marring wedge tool)
17mm hex socket
E12 Torx socket
small screwdriver
furniture pad and/or towels (to protect car)

Let's get started!

First, start by insuring the car is turned off, the key is out and the parking brake is on. Put it in 2nd gear for added safety. Then we need to disconnect the battery.

Let's get that seat out! Once it's out, we can begin work on other areas of the interior.

Nice work!

I just did a seat swap (A.S.S to lightweight GT3 buckets) and was too excited to take pics while I was doing it. Thanks for your efforts!!!

I was following your DIY, but I don't have a spudger, so I tried a spludner, but it doesn't have the angled flay rod, so is it okay to use an oblique smulger?

The right tool for the job makes the work go quick and easy!

I'll try to remember to post a picture and maybe even a link for my spudger tool.

Good luck, my thoughts are with you.
I hope you cleared your calender for the next 72 hours to a month. It's not really installed until I see a youtube posted with synced data/film including RPM..
