Don't worry Ryan... I'm going to throw some fresh Hoosiers on the GT3 and come hunting for you at some event this year! Ha!
You're right, my mom was at the track more than me last year. Hopefully I'll have more time this year but it certainly isn't isn't starting out that way.

ryan, what kind of times have you been getting in the RS at VIR compared to when you had the 3

Kj, did you get a 3???

I ran 2:06s with the '07 and 2:04's with the RS. Only made it to VIR once with it last year. Still probably another 1-2 seconds left while keeping it stock (with exception of rubber and pads) with me droving.

jenk12m 01-22-2011 01:57 AM

Nice, I've been having that itch to get a new RS

mooty 01-22-2011 03:03 AM

^ DO IT.

TRAKCAR 01-22-2011 10:20 AM

Yep. Do it!
Mike is enjoying looking for RS too much..

2:04's with the RS.

Best I've done is a 2:06+ But I am going back in April with Murry with a less aggressive LSD and I think I lost 1 sec in T1 alone.

I'll be looking at your video and aim for that 2:04 if it is a nice cool day..

jenk12m 01-22-2011 02:13 PM

I'm still looking, just waiting for the right one to pop up

Michael, I did pick a 996 GT3 a bit over a year ago. Unfortunately I haven't had time over the past year to hit the track with it much. I still have the race car also. I hope to see ya around at some track this year.

On the Zone 2 topic, it's an 8 hour tow for me and the weather is so iffy this early in the year. Two years ago it was cold hard rain for 3 straight days. But still ...

atleung 01-23-2011 12:45 PM

OK, I just signed up. See you boys there!

I was there and that sucked for a 3 day event. It rained last year as well. I think Friday was ok but rained sat. And sun. I think last year is when they put a new sealant down around 5a and 3 or 4 gt3's hit the wall at the same spot

kj, good to hear from ya and if you can't beat the 3, join em:p. Are you strip it out and make your new race car?

There are a number of other P-car drivers caravaning down from NJ, NY and PA (even CT I think) on Thursday, you might want to tag along with them, might make the trip more fun.

Looking forward to see you again :)

A bunch of us Riesentoter drivers go to this event and most of the people running it this year are Riesentoters. The early date still sucks.

Ha! I dunno, my little race scared quite a few GT3s. On the longer VIR, Watkins Glen style tracks I got beat on, but at Summit and Thunderbolt (New Jersey Motorsport Park) I could keep the average red group 6 and 7.1 GT3s honest. But yeah, there were always faster GT3s every where. Since my race car has most of the interior and carpet I plan on stripping as much out of it as I can and still keep it PCA H or I legal. Hopefully it'll last another couple of years with me beating on it.

I plan to use the GT3 kind of randomly, really. Last year when I finally got to track it, I had the euro seats and DAS bar but hadn't installed my harnesses yet. I planned on just going to the track (Summit Main) to get a feel for the car but I got a little crazy and tried to chase Ryan down! After about a lap and no luck catching him, I actually had to back it down a bit. I'll get the harnesses installed next month and I'll use the GT3 when I don't feel like towing the race car (which is increasingly often. Heh.). It should get a good work out this year and when I move on to a 7.2 GT3 I'll probably convert this to a race car. I'm sure my current race car will be tired by then.

Ha, that always happens when you tell yourself your going to take it easy then you find yourself chasing your buddies and everything you were thinking went out the window. Hopefully, I'll see you at the track this year. I'm not doing the zone2 event this year but I came up for the club race last summer and had a blast since they were down on racers. They ended up giving the DE guys 45min sessions all weekend. We were wore out by sun with 100 degree temps and packed up by lunch time
