Default Catastrophic Coolant Hose Coupling Failure Registry

I would like to limit this registry to strictly people who have had this problem. It would be great to see just how expansive this issue really is. This is a serious problem and could easily result in a fatality under the right circumstances. Please avoid discussing the problem and post questions etc elsewhere so that the thread does not get diluted.

The posts should read as follows:

Year:
Model:
Mileage:
Circumstances surrounding failure:
Specific Coupling:
Repair Solution:

Engine is currently out at dealer. It is my understanding that it will be warrantied. Will update post when repair has been completed.

Few years old but add me to this registry. Hopefully, Porsche will see it. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-...ml#post4433237

996 GT3 2004 in 2006 blew the fitting out of the driver's side of the coolant pump on track at around 18,000 miles. Same car in 2008 blew the right side fitting out on track at around 24,000 miles.

Based on observations at my regions DEs it seems that all of the 2004 GT3's blow a coolant line sooner or later.

I had cited my personal experience on Datax' thread back in 2007...

Year: 2004
Model: 996 GT3
Mileage: 10k
Circumstances surrounding failure: Miller Motorsports Park - 100+ degree track day, and hose got brittle and slipped off connection
Specific Coupling: bypass hose on the right side of the enginer
Repair Solution: Use Red Line Water Wetter and replace all hoses and connections once per year (cheap insurance)
