Default Warning re:Gray paint on .2 RS

For those who have (or are thinking of getting) the gray paint on the .2 RS, don't even think about it unless you are going to get the whole body wrapped. I have never seen such soft paint in my life (maybe on an 80's honda). I have only had the car a week, put 300 easy street miles on it, and already have maybe half a dozen chips or scratches in the paint (shows up white) on the side panels below the door and the rear wheel arch. Car is going in for the rest of the wrap next week.

agree with you. I've seen a local grey/gold that has a few chips in the front, and the car is only few weeks old.

White, the only way to go for a track car.

Modern Porsches are finished with water-based paints. No wonder why it's BS.

Yes, the only place isn't is the bottom of the wing.

The white will still get chipped and scratched- you just don't see it?

yes, any paint gets chipped, but it's less obvious on white/silver colors.

seems like the cause of natural wide *** + the sticky tire combo. put it this way, Porsche did a lame job on covering the rear fenders to begin with. it's just more obvious on the darker color car. i agree if u're perfectionist, get it wrapped is the way to go.

If you are going to get the whole car, why not go with the Matte Option??

To my knowledge all modern cars use water-based paint for environmental reasons. It's all crap. My BMW chips like crazy. Get it covered.

I chipped grey/gold in 10 miles. I said screw my perfectionistic traits and stopped worrying about it. I even park the car in the middle of parking lots. I track it with no wrap at all. I babied my '04 GT3...only 1 tiny chip and I still got killed when I sold it!
