Does anyone know what the revs are originally and then change to at 100mph?

In what gear? What are you running for tires? And what year is your car? The ratios have changed a little bit from year to year, as well as with standard GT3 versus GT3 RS.

It raises your RPM by about 1000. Depending on your tire size anywhere from 5800 to 6800 with 25.913 diameter tires, and from 5500 to 6500 with 27.2 inch tires. This would be in 4th gear for both of these.

Let me know if you would like to see the gearing charts on this, and I will be happy to email them to you.

Hope that this helps,

Sorry I meant in 6th gear and i'm not sure what tire size but probably 45 sidewalls. I use my car a lot around Europe and in the UK and I don't want to make the car too short gear for the 100mph cruise whilst on the motorway.

If you've got the 0.92 6th gear of the later cars and stock tires, the 4.00 R/P set put you a touch over 4300 rpm at 100mph. For comparison, the stock 3.44 FD puts you closer to 3700rpm at the same speed.

Guys how does this all compare to the OEM option fitted to the 7mk2RS. I think that has shorter final drive, and a different 6th? Will this option have the wear issues discussed?

I think that 1-5 are the same in the MKII RS with a shorter final drive and a taller 6th. in order to get back to the same RPM in 6th. as in the MKI GT3/RS

That's what I think too, so does that mean they are using this high maintenance even toothed 4.0 drive?

Anyone know how quicker this final drive makes a car accelerate? If its 15% higher geared does that mean it accelerates 15% quicker in gear?

No I thought they were using a 3.89 to 1, not a 4.0 to 1. Can somebody confirm this? If it is a 3.89, it must more street friendly and a longterm solution.

Ok this sounds like it might be a nice mod for the older cars... Wonder how much it actually improves accel?

Exactly, that what I am thinking about possibly using in my 996 GT3. The ring and pinion from the 2010 GT3 RS.

me too. Wouldn't mind the 6th gear too to keep it nice on long runs.

That and the cup breather valve so we can get 5-10bhp and have an RMS that leaks like the 7s

That is the correct ratio for the new GT3-RS. It's not quite as short as the 4.00 and I think will become a popular option for street rodders and track day junkies.

The 6th gear is easy since that's a ratio that's readily availabe in the aftermarket.

The R/P is another story. When they release something new like that Porsche will often tie it up for a couple of years making it only available through motorsports or backdoor deals at the factory.
