I charted a blast up to 5500rpm in 5th then dropped to 4th and wrung it out to the limiter at 141mph.
The maximum IAT in 4th was 46.5degC (114 DegF).

This is on a relatively cool day so it will be interesting to see what higher ambient temperatures bring.....
So this test was done with what intercoolers? standard ones? They don't seem to do a great job!

stock intercoolers suck 9 (pretty average that is). That is why it's worth upgrading if one is trying any sort of power hike.. Good luck Tobby

Final testing on stock intercoolers before new units are fitted....

22-23 Degrees C today so quite warm for the UK, I managed to get the engine nice and hot with quite scary results.

at the limiter in 5th gear saw the IAT at 62.5 degrees C
this is very high, 40 Deg C above ambient and for sure timing pull so plenty of room for better intercoolers to give some free hp....

I am hoping for my new ones to come in around 20 degrees C above ambient under same conditions.

What is the weight compared to stock?
Just had them on the scales - 3.76kg each, not sure of stock (I have a bare stock core here which weighs ~2kg)

Thank you...that's great! not too much heavier!

As you know, I am realy interested in your total package results.

Is there any concerns about changing the IC without adjusting the DME?

DME will be fine, the data we have far shows that these run very warm IATs, if the intercooler works as well as Secan and keeps at ~20degC above ambient it will just keep the mapping in maximum timing advance zone. With your tuned ECU you would benefit even more since inevitably your engine will be running more BTU and hotter than stock IATs

Look good TB993TT... on this picture I might have been tempted to widen out the end tank a bit for slightly better flow but judging by the data you posted it doesn't really matter

Alex, I have had some great "tech" talk on intercoolers whilst I have been getting stuck into this project (which is great fun) but basically I left it to the aerospace engineers and said to fellow online "experts" , yes I know what you are saying but lets just see how they perform ?
I love the tech talk as much as if not more than the next guy but really if you are paying people to do the math and come up with an expensive product you have to leave them to it........ I am still not sure that they will prove as good as the Secans, further testing will tell

Hey Toby, I love seeing this sorta stuff... and it really looks like it'll succeed (fingers crossed). If they do what they're supposed to you might have some folks knocking on your door for some orders

Nice work Toby. Looks like a 10C advantage over stock. Next would be the speed vs time charts
