It's a pleasure to watch two adults disagree and then come together on this forum.

Many thanks for doing the testing you have shown that your product works much better than stock I was wrong and apologise it is a good value for money upgrade and your service is excellent

I am a bit confused how a 18degC ambient gets 27DegC above ambient at max revs in 4th yet at 14DegC you manage only 18DegC above ambient.....Does this mean at say 25DegC ambient the delta will increase even further or are these different tunes ?

Yes, those were different tunes between the graph I posted on 4-07-09 and the ones I posted today.

We flashed the AWE intercooler car back to the older, less aggressive file in the second tests to match what was in the stock intercooler car (since the AWE intercooler car was already apart for development it was easier to flash that one rather than taking apart the stock intercooler car to get to the DME).

Looks like you can get Secan technology for 1/5th of the price, or almost!

Todd, the DL1 is an amazing tool to datalog all these parameters and works better than a dyno Would you mind posting in two separate graphs the following parameters for each car:

Graph 1: Car 1 alone
1- Speed vs. Time axis (not RPM)
2- Ambient Temp
3- IAT
4- Boost
5- Altitude line

Graph 2, Car 2 alone
1- Speed vs time axis (not RPM)
2- Ambient temp
3- IAT
4- Boost
5- Altitude line

I think this would bring this to a conclusion. Great to see a tuner putting his product through such thorough real life testing.

Sorry for the delay. Got caught up in photo projects on Friday.

I think this is what you are requesting:

OK, my money has gone where my mouth is and my cores are at the fabricator having the end tanks made.
Just to recap my cores were designed and made by a UK company who supllies current Formula 1 teams with radiators as well as Eurofighter my goal was to get intercoolers which were as effective as Secan (Porsche MS supplier) but at half the price, these will end up around half the price but that is aided by the bad Euro/£ rate we have currently.....

The bits one can see on the cores is that they have 14 channels for the boost air to flow through and 15 for the cooling air to flow through, this seems to be more than other budget intercoolers for the 997tt but is the same as the Secan units which "hopefully" means the math came out the same

I have a Durametric reader en route from the US and am hoping the '08 software will read my '09 model without problems. I will do some runs with stock I/Cs and then with my new units - the results will be shared warts and all and may encourage other vendors to do the same however I doubt it.....

How about a picture of Todd's cores to compare with the other two?

For the record, the above picture is not of an A.W.E. Tuning intercooler.

Notice here that our mounting pins are machined down from when originally cast.

Durametric arrived today so I couldn't resist getting some data:

Ambient temp is 16 to 17 degC (61DegF) IAT during normal off boost type driving was a steady 24DegC (75DegF)
I charted a blast up to 5500rpm in 5th then dropped to 4th and wrung it out to the limiter at 141mph.
The maximum IAT in 4th was 46.5degC (114 DegF).

This is on a relatively cool day so it will be interesting to see what higher ambient temperatures bring.....
