Default My RS loses 74lbs the hard way - Pics

Every piece of factory wire and the entire dash was stripped from my RS. The net result is 74lbs dropped. A custom race harness is being installed along with a Motec ECU and ADL3 display on a custom CF dash.

The RSR Individual throttle bodies have been installed along with the lightweight alternator and cooling system. This drops 25lbs off the motor.

The next step is to install 09 WC intake cams and a polycorbonate windshield.

the throttle bodies are nice.
I assume it is not the mod one would do to for a street/track duty car?

I guess by "net" you don't mean you've weighed the replacement components.

Are you going to go through a nut-and-bolt lightening process?

I'm looking forward to the build up of the new wiring harness, I hope you can convince somebody to photo-doc the work -- maybe post to one of the photo sharing sites like Picasa (Rennlist pics are painfully low res.)

This hurts to watch but I am sure there will be a great result at the end.

You're right, it does hurt to watch. And if there was anyone I thought I would never beat their head against this particular brick wall again ... : )

ps. Garrett, surely your budget is very close to RSR territory. I know of an '08 for sale. Probably actually save you money at around $450K.

Garrett I think I've found your song. Your Mother will remember it. From 1972, "It's Too Late To Turn Back Now"....

Were you heavily involved with "strippers" early in life? And I somehow recall a lightweight GT-2 project years ago..........

Don't forget the carbon fiber fenders next!

Sweet!!!

I don't think that there's a name for what you have. Insanity just doesn't cover it.
