Default 996 GT3 to 997 GT3RS conversion

Some final pictures of my RS conversion and a link to 5 months of work. I actually found the car from these forums in early June, from another rennlister. I am looking forward to putting some miles on it now. http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/g...onversion.html

The wheels are to big. They make the brakes look smaller. The body work looks great!

The paint is custom mixed straight black single stage with flattening additive. I have seen quite a few wrapped flat black cars, but almost none painted.

Joe,

it looks awesome!

huge transformation, as I know the previous owner and this particular car. BTW I actually saw how it crashed on the rainy track as I was right behind it...

nice -- a 997 3 without a sunroof!

nice work -- not digging the wheels though...

I am planning on picking up some 997 GT3RS wheel and tire combo for my track wheels. I knew quite a few of you would look down upon this kind of conversion that is why I didn't post it until I was done. No big deal, but there was a lot of other informative things that I have done that I couldn't find being done before. Like pcm 2.1 install on a 996 GT3 or GT2 where neither of these cars have a factory amp or optical cables, wiring, body panels etc. The interior is done daytona violet. CGT seats, carbon fiber accents, and painted gt silver pcm 2.1, console, heater display, cup holders, and 997 GT3RS roll bar. Here are some daylight pics of the car today. Had it aligned today, raised it up .25 inches front and rear after these pics, and it weighed 3100lbs. Is that in range of normal?

Great job, looking at doing something similar, got any advice, just doing the front end and led taillights, got anymore pics, interior? What suspension did you use, coilovers? where did you get the rs front spoiler add on and headlight rings? Are those standard 996 gt3 rear fenders? Looked wider. (Very nice) sorry for all the questions, just really interested. Thanks. Pm me if my questions are off topic
