i have them in my gt2 and they are perfect. takes a few miles for your body to settle in them but once settled, you are in the perfect driving position. they are padded just right for enough grip and comfort.

Also ended up liking them quite a bit. They're not quite as grippy as the old 996 Euro chairs (mainly upper torso, for me), but I found them to be supremely comfortable and grippy enough to keep me in place.
I did a VERY long day of fast running up the CA coast and a variety of backroads going inland (started at 7:00 am, got home around midnight, didn't spend too much time out of the car), and still felt great. That's always the mark of a good seat, but I haven't experienced too many that can do that. This, plus enough support, plus the side airbag, plus the ability to still access the 911's useful rear quarters, makes these seats winners, in my book.

I sat in them on the showroom floor, and they felt great. I wish the backrest was reclined just a smidge more...I don't like being quite so close to the steering wheel when driving on the street. Anybody know if the seat itself happens to have different mounting positions? I thought that the 996 seat did.

Thanks, you've summed it up nicely, now I've got some price & delivery info to gather.
Should anyone know of a set that are available, please advise...

Unlike old Euro GT3 shell seats, the new one does not have holes that I could see on the mounting bracket (which is kinda cool on the new one, BTW). So, at least as far as I could tell, you get what you get. And I wouldn't have minded going lower. At least that was how I felt when I first sat down. In time, I simply loved the driving position.
OG, if you're talking about the stock U.S. sport seats that come standard in the 997 GT3, I think they are many, many MILES better than the "sport seats" found in U.S. 996 GT3s and GT2s. Those never worked for me. It was as if the designer wanted to hold your torso in place via your shoulderblades, and deleted the lower side bolsters/supports found in ALL decent sport seats. I hated those seats, and found the standard 986/996 seats to be superior in every way.
The seats we got in U.S. 997 GT3s were good enough for me to not want to change them for a street car, and esp. since you'd lose the folding/access thing if you went 996 GT or CGT/997 GT seats. Until now....
Cheers!

- FWIW- I've spoken w/ Dayton @ DPS and Sunset Re these seats. A question has come up on the "connectabilty" to get the side airbag to work w/ my '07. Dayton mentioned he Thought that it's plug 'n play w/ '08 cars but was'nt sure on on older ones. Anyone tried or acomplish this?

Just to be sure I know the seats fold forward. But no recline? Personally can't leave with that due to my back always need to vary the position.
Spoke with a shop the other day that modifies Recaro seats i.e. puts belt holes in the seat cushion and re upholsters. Has anyone done this with a stock seat.
The Recaro Speed are the only seats I know that will support a 5/6 point harness and have adjustable rake sit lower than stock giving more helmet room. But would look a little low rent in the newer cars.
