Owner Review: GT vs. Porsche GT3 RS (Long)

[QUOTE=C.J. Ichiban;5177671]rickg87- I'll take your 430 if you're over it. that is of course, assuming you take baseball memorabilia as payment.
C.J. - Sounds like a deal, as long as you include the Mantle rookie card

Great review. The FGT's are exceptional. The upgraded whipples put them in the 800+ hp range which is insane. My only dislike about them is the cockpit seems unnatural for driving, and the visibility rearward and around the front A pillar is very poor.

Excellent review, thanks for the post. Your passion as a car guy is well expressed in your writing.
My brother has a F430 F1, and I have a 996 GT3 RS. People notice my car a lot with the red livery. But when I'm on the road together with my brother, my car magically becomes invisible.
BTW, I fully agree with your comparisons of the Porsche vs. the Ferrari. I would love to drive a GT.

A really impressive feat of writing and editing. Thanks for that.
One question - were you serious about the quality of body panel alignment? The GT´s I have seen so far had a centimeter of gap around the rear bumper and rear shell area.
As for the Porsche, it is truly perfect in that respect.

Now I really want to test drive one. Anyone out there who would allow me to test drive their FGT? I would be willing to fly anywhere within the continental USA.

The thing I disliked the most about the FGT was the ingress and egree out of the car. You had to contort yourself in such an unnatural way to keep from banging your head on the large door overhang. I still managed to bonk my head several times even though I was aware of the overhang. My back couldnt take that for very long. Also, I couldnt find anybody who was crazy about wanting to work on the FGT, even the dealers didnt want to deal with it. That's the nice think about P cars is there are dealers and independents everywhere.
Love the looks of the FGT though...

I'll get to work on that- in the mean time I've got some nice koufax, nolan ryan, and lots of modern guys. what I may lack in rarity I make up for in quantity! Still, I'm probably about 130k short of your car's value, assuming it's a coupe.

The 993 and GT3 give me all the fun I need. Any idea's?
