Thanks for the advice guys. This post has turned out to be very informative. I'll probably go for a system early in the new year. Any other personal experience is welcome. As usual, you just cant' beat the info you get on rennlist.

I heard the GMG and Sharkworks side by side last weekend. BOTH sounded AWESOME. The Sharkworks sounded higher pitched and a little meaner to me.... I would not be disappointed by either. I did not dirve either car so I cannot comment on drone or resonance.

I previously posted db levels for the stock and SW rear delete all taken at 30ft.
Basically:
- at idle, stock 80db goes to 92db
- at 4500 blip 93db goes to 103db
I do not know how they compare at 8300rpm 3rd gear 115mph flybyes but one would have to think minimum 105db stock versus 115db rear delete.
having been trackside at Mosport earlier this year (I was in a different run group) with all of the above on the track at the same time (996cup, 997cup, 997gt3rs) there is absolutely no way that my car, now currently rear delete, would come close to the scream that comes out of a cup car

Three Wheelin'
been down this road with other P-cars...spent mucho $$ and in retrospect; my advice is to not alter your RS from it stock equipment (just for resale values alone) and consider a dedicated track car...early 996 cups are a bargain and are relatively bullet proof.....you will not be disappointed....just my 2 cents....

Rog keep an eye on Manthey too and see what they are doing. I had that on my 996 3 but it was up to 410 from 385. I am amazed at the honesty of these guys on our board like Todd and Sharky though. I would be happy to be a customer of theirs. but the car sounds so nice now how much is 'alittle' bit better
worth? the complete manthey kit on the 6 was about 15k USD.

Cheapest, quickest, and easiest exhaust sound mod it to unplug the wire that controls the exhaust bypass valve. Markedly louder below about 4000 rpm. It is also the easiest mod to undo when you get tired of the drone when you are just putting around town.
