Nuts. Check out the "additional Pictures"
what an animal that thing is?!!

Anyone have a gander how that thing would compare to the 996 or 997 GT2? seems like back then those gt2s were built for the track, am i mistaken.

Left nut, right nut and all the nuts in between....i'd give them up for that thing. i had my shot. balked and missed out.

Life is too short to miss out on cars like this. A regular 993 GT2 would be a dream anyway though. Are there any street legal ones in the US?

You can buy a 993 TT and make a 993GT2 out of it. Jean did it on the 993TT board. Great car.
I wouldnt care if that was a real one or not`
I would love to emulate what Jean did. Viper Bob did one too. Great cars and look as mean as it gets.

Earlier this year, Auto Motor und Sport took an interesting handful of cars down to Nardo in southern Italy. Here they tested them on the High Speed Circuit and on the new Handling Track.

The results were interesting

Empty Weight (Kg) ........................ 1,495 ............................... 1,405 ............................. 1,724 .......................... 1,470 .................. 1,530

0-100 km/hr ..................................... 4.0 .................................. 3.7 ................................ 3.8 .............................. 4.3 ..................... 3.6
0-200 ............................................. 11.9 ................................ 12.8 .............................. 11.1 ............................. 13.9 ................... 10.3
0-300 ............................................. 46.9 ................................ 44.2 .............................. 35.8 ............................. 47.5 ................... 27,6

Top Speed km/hr ............................ 314 ................................ 314 ................................. 328 .............................. 316 .................... 361

Time Round Handling Course ........... 56.59 .............................. 54.92 ............................. 57.69 ......................... 56.57 ................... 55.37

Tax Paid Price (Euro Germany) .... 86,150 ..............................187,604 ........................... 476,000 ..................... 112,544 ................. 284,053

FWIW I did a couple of Performance Box GPS runs Sunday. 85F, 90% humidity, sea level, soft launch. This is in my TT which has an aftermarket ECU and exhaust mod. My 100-200kph time is 7.2 seconds. Others with similar mods in a TT get to 300kph in about 31-32 seconds. Compare that to the list above, and consider that the TT with street tires and lousy alignment usually comes close to the Gt3/Z06 in roadcourses, and the Gt2 I would expect to be near the same acceleration as the modded TT

GT2 video at the Ring. Plus long interior shots. The price may be high compared to a TT but the GT2 is simply gorgeous. And compared to the RUF RT12 the GT2 is reasonably priced and faster on a track.

the GT2 is something special. especially the 993 GT2 what a brute and as beautiful as it gets.
Nick Heidfeld has a 996 GT2, must be something special if a Formula 1 driver has one.

Ther is nothing 'gentlemanly' about Turbos

the GT2 could be for officers in Space Command - when you bury your foot, there is a slight pause whilst a couple of Space Cadets chuck some Dilithium crystals onto the fire, and then pwaarrrrrrr - warp speed.

the instantaneous effect of burying your foot in a NA car is like easing the rein of a thoroughbred - that is 'gentlemanly'!

+1; great description

If the 997 GT2 is cut from the same cloth as the 996 GT2 and 993 GT2 then it will be a brute; it is not about finesse when the turbos take over, just the feeling of unrestrained power. Not to suggest that the GT3 can't get away from you, particularly the 996 version, but IMO the GT3 is much more a finesse car, much more a driver's car. I definitely agree with Nord's take on the comparison.

I have driven a Evo and not just around the block. It is a very difficult car to drive fast unless you drive on smooth track asphalt and even then it requires full attention. Is it fast, yes, but not THAT fast. High speed handling or going Vmax is very interesting..................aka almost stone age. Did I mention no likey regular roads ?

A equally prepared 996GT2 will blow it's doors off, no question.

For all who compare a tt to the new GT2, drive it .......................and you will forget the tt instantly, ecu flash or not.

Someone here gave the SLR a less favorable impression, well, it might not be the fastest and sure is expensive but that thing is ROCK solid at 300 km/h plus as I can attest beause i took both hands off the steering wheel.

A welcome breath of fresh air again.

Tell 'ya what though, I was im Deutschland this week in a diesel A8 on the Bahn at 280 kph (with trucks going >100kph slower right next to me, I mean it is wild there) and that big **** was rock solid too. Very impressive!

The Bahn is unbelieveable to a guy used to rude US drivers who think they own the road in front of them too. What clowns we have here. Over there everyone drives with respect and shares the road properly, whether someone's doing 60 or 160. What an experience for someone who's used to the goofs here.

Good point, and I think this sensation is the case with many high-boost RWD cars. When boost comes on hard and late, it makes for an adrenaline rush, a feeling of uncertainty, and I think that's the kind of excitement that's going to sell 7GT2s. It's like when you boot it from a low rpm, you're saying to yourself "Ah yes, it's taking off quite nicEEELLYYYY WHOOO THERE'S THE POOWWWE (shift) RRRRR!!!"

Personally, I'm really excited about the 7GT2. I think it'll take everything I like about the 997S (rwd, great chassis) and 996TT (booOOOST), and combine it in a terrific, well-built, well-executed 911 platform for a really entertaining, engaging car. And in the end, for us hotlapping weenies, isn't it all about entertainment, not necessarily ultimate lap times?

....and in the end.....???????

is this some kind of pole dancing barbeque treat?

Sounds like the sort of thing that happens in Florida, as written about by Hiassen
