Default Not any louder..

Just unplugged in the RS, only difference is exhaust is open at lower RPM's, same sound, no louder. Plugged it again, actually like the sound changing as the RPM's increase.

Sometimes it is obnoxious. Easy to just plug back in again if you don't feel like getting a headache

just unplugged it tonite and am super happy with result.

ive felt the noise changes due to valve openings and closings sounded very artificial. almost as if they were coming from the stereo and not the motor. now that is fixed. it does drone slightly but only at about 2k rpm and who wants to keep a gt3 there anyway.

big shout out to the rennlister at limerock today who showed me how to do it i forgot your name.

I unplugged mine for a couple of hours, I gotta admit the sonic drone gets annoying after awhile and does give you a headache. I plugged it back in.

I tried unplugging mine a couple days ago, and boy is that thing on there tight. Even pushing in that little spring retainer to release the clips I could not budge it. So I gave up...did not want to break anything.

Anyone else find that plug solidly on there?

And yes I made sure that retaining clip was depressed all the way (just like the retaining clip for the bulb housings on the sidemarker lights).

Am I missing something? Or am I just a feeb?

It's a two hand operation. One to hold the housing, one to manipulate the clip. Its tight but not bad with two hands. Dont hit it with your purse as you reach in.

Just wiggle it a bit while trying to unplug and it should come off.

That little spring retainer clip is made to pull out sideways about 1/4" of an inch, then, it's an easy pull straight down to unplug the magic plug.

"Purse"?.....

I think they call it a "man-bag". Besides have you seen how much crap some women carry in those things...about 50 pounds worth. Probably work just as well as a sledge hammer.

For me to get two hands in there is impossible. Tried that; hands too damn big.

I will try pulling the retaining clip out, and giving it a "gentle wiggle". I was pushing it in, as mine just sits out about 1/8th inch from the housing and just keeps "springing" back to that position.

Thanks for the advice.

I've noticed it does affect driveability, but in a good way. I've noticed that the clutch engagement is much smoother since the power delivery is smooth. When the clip is connected and the valves are engaged, the take up in the clutch gets erratic due to the valve actuator. It does something to the power delivery.

I've noticed the clutch take-up is much smoother and easier to roll the car with it unplugged. My 2 cents.
