Maybe for the "couple DE's a year" type of person, but for the track ****** on this board there is NO way that clay bar treatment after every event is something that is going to happen.
I'm a little OCD when it comes to these things...have to be when you operate your own detailing business and the cars you track are also used to promote your business.

You mean nobody else washes their car between days of a 2 day DE like me either? :-)

Andy, I have only done that once. It was when I had an "incident" I prefer not to discuss

Here's the result of said incident before cleaning later that day for day 2 of the event.

ps. it sure didn't help that this is my wife's car. Of course, I got the look that meant that I was never allowed to EVER critique her drving or "incidents".

Guys,

With my wife and I both tracking our GT3s in the instructor run group, I know aboout rubber marks. I use a product available from Amsoil distributors and resellers called Miracle Wash. It is an aerosol spray. It disolves the rubber like magic. It also leaves a wax finish.

Best,

I bought Plexus from a local racing supply shop. If you have a local clear bra installer I am sure they have it as well. Paid $8.95 a can. The miracle wash stuff is on the Amsoil website. Not sure if you can get it in "brick&mortar" places. Hopefully the guys that have used it will chime in.

I usually just unload the car, go into the house to take a shower and send out the "homemaker" wife to clean up the mess I made over the weekend. Then if she is lucky, we will sit down and talk.

Before the lightning strikes where can I buy a can of that Miracle Wash again?

Chris, I need to make sure my wife doesn't read this thread! She has been known to read some of the threads when we are hanging in my office at home.

If she does, tell her that even though I don't know her that well I love her to death. Anyone that lets us come out and do this stuff weekend after weekend deserves all the praise I can give them. That goes double for someone who tags along for the fun as your wife does.

I hope you get a chance to meet Deb and the kids this season. They come to some of the member days but not many of the other DE events.

Take care.

Chris, you just need to do what I did. MAKE your wife do a DE and she will be hooked forever! I can't tell you how many times this winter I have had to tell my wife, "relax honey, it's only 'x' days until our first event of the spring!" Damn I love that woman

ps. 32 days 14 hours till we grid up
