Its one thing that an enthusiast has to pay the premo but to have to accept whatever they optioned on the car sucks.

The manager Brandon told me that they are not sure what the prices are but they will be north of 50k over sticker. He also told me the owner may choose to keep the first car.

WTF - so many dealers tossed their waiting list in the trash and returned deposits after long waits. I will never be loyal to a P dealer again.

50k over a 120-130k car... geeze, too rich for my blood.
grussell, i see what you mean. it's hard to by loyal to a dealer that does that.

I'm sure they will be optioned to 150k plus 50k over sticker = 200k. Good luck with that.

I put down $1K on a wait list at Champion back in May for an RS. I was told that I was #3 on the list. So far, my dealer keeps telling me "don't worry, we will get you one" but has no answer regarding how many cars they have in allocation. That really ticks me off...

LOL. Mckenna told me the same thing about a "premium"...except it was going to 100k over. I don't know what they're smoking but good luck with that.

If an RS ever sells for 100k over, I'll become a ***** and sell mine too!

May was very late to the game for anyone to be telling you you're third on the list a Champion. Sure, they'll get more than their share of GT3's, but 3rd as late as May? Get something in writing.

I think we'll see the dam burst soon -- I fully expect to see PAG offer another 200 RS's to the US market.

As for McKenna -- if it's true, they're bastards and deserve dirt. I think Claridges locally is trying the same bull****. Maybe they just never sold enough Carrera GTs to have customers taking their RS allocation. Pathetic.

Not that I've ever been "loyal" -- I would count myself as a typical, average to good customer, but Porsche hasn't done much to keep the likes of me happy in a long time. The 996 and 997 GT3 are the first drops of rain in the desert since the 993 Turbo and 993 Carrera S. Can a car maker really just bring out one good car every decade, sell a couple of hundred and that's that?

Yep. And I will not hold out my breath for the next 200. I said and I will say again that for the RS 229 and no more. The GT 3 with the roof as many as needed to fill demand is going to happen.

I called my Porsche Dealer yesterday and He told me he heard that the other dealers were going to hold out for $100,00.00 over sticker on their RS's.
We can only hope that people remember who these dealers are and turn our backs to them after the RS's are long gone.

I don't get it! just buy a GT3 for 115k and you will have 99% the car. add a few bits and I would be surprised if you didn't have a better car. Why spend 200k? what a joke!
