Default HomeLink?

The window sticker of my just-delivered 997 GT3 says HomeLink is among its comfort and convenience features. However, my salesman says there's no HomeLink, the owner's manual makes no mention of it and I can't find any evidence of it in the car itself.

Any one find the HomeLink that's supposed to be there?

Thanks.

Sorry...NO Homelink

Monroney labels are prnted by the port and have frequent errors

Monroney also lists tank capacity as 16.8 gal ...the correct size is 17.7

Has anyone retrofitted homelink? It sure would be nice. The manual actually does mention Homelink in the section about manually operating the sunroof.

Thanks, all. That's what I figured. Not surprised, but for 106 Large, it oughta be there, IMO.

No biggie in any event. I'll just clip the transmitter to the passenger sunvisor, just like I did in my new '75 Datsun 280Z!

Wendelin, are you listening??

if there's a switch blank anywhere on the dash, you can install a garage opener there.
do a search under user name kirby.

Default Homelink

It is rediculous that these cars don't have Homelink. As mentioned there are a number of threads that describe how to to do it yourself. The link below is what i did. It's a battery powered Homelink device originally designed for motorcycles.

I was also surprised not to see the homelink, but then again, this is a race car. I guess if you want all the lux stuff, get the Turbo.

If you don't mind replacing the rearview mirror (heresy I know), you could go with something like this:

Cheap and looks like it would be easy to install cleanly

After-market products are wildly expensive and don't fit.
Get a sunvisor from a wrecker or off eBay
http://search.ebay.com/homelink
eg. This one could be disassembled and hidden. $6

There's a nice after-market product that connects to the high-beam flash circuit, which you could DIY with the parts from buying a homelink unit off eBay.
