I know of many cars, ones that I have driven that in three years of ownership haven't recieved more than 100 miles. Its all in how you view it. A Cayman will never appreciate over retail because its not an exclusive vehicle. In 5 years anyone with a good credit score and a decent job will be able to reasonably afford one. On the other hand, a car such as the Ferrari Enzo that may only get 100 miles a year will appreciate every year until it gets driven to the point where it depreciates. I can't even get started on older cars.

if i had an enzo with 100 miles, yes it most likely will increase in value, but for ME, if i had an enzo, it will see 20k miles a year, 5000 of which will be on track. so by the time i am done with it. how much will you pay for mine?
it all depends on how you view a "car" to be. if you store it, yes, price go up. if you drive it, price go down.

I don't think any of us are happy about not getting all the features the Rest of World spec 997 GT3 RS has.
However, a couple of sources believe the North America spec 2007 GT3 RS will have the following:
- limited colors orange, green, black, and silver (maybe white if you push it)
- Carrera 4 wider rear body shell, 44 mm wider at rear axle, wider rear track than 997 GT3
- split track control arms front and rear
- 5 mm longer wheelbase than 997 GT3
- front lower spoiler lip contour different than 997 GT3 (reduces airflow underneath the car)
- carbon fiber front hood
- carbon fiber rear wing
- single mass flywheel
- no sunroof
- lighter than 997 GT3

True. I was very disapointed when I heard how cool the ROW was and how stripped the North American version would be. Not near as so when it hit me that I'm not getting one!! I think my only option is to call PCNA and let them know that a dealer has shafterd me. If I'm wrong I'll stop whinning but I put my deposit down in May and that wasn't fast enough? . NO WAY! Financial records should prove me right and it may be worth getting an lawyer see that happen. I don't know I guess I'm just steemed. Solid asvise from anyone would be great.

It seems that we're getting a real RS minus the bolt-on parts not allowed by our DOT for a road car. Buying the CF seats, the rollcage and the plastic rear window will bring the car to ROW RS specs, a real RS.
This is not a fake RS as the 964RS America. By the way, that RS America sold cheaper than the regular C2, Porsche couldn't move them, and sold them even cheaper. These days those fake RSA carry a premium compared to the 964C2.

Actually it isn't that bad. Base GT3 + 20% = $127,200. 20% is the average ROW price difference between the GT3 and GT3 RS.
Missing parts:
- Rollbar: $1,700
- Seats: $5,500 (they can be ordered at this price)
- Plastic Rear window: $800
The stock Leather/Alcantara seats have some value for 996/997 owners, let's guess $2,500 a pair.
If the base price for the RS is $123,200, then you can get it to ROW specs for $128,700, with a spare rear glass window worth something. That's a 21% premium over the base GT3.

how are you coming to this conclusion?
i just converted some euro prices for the row gt3rs and they were easily 40-50k plus, more than the u.s. price.

However, it was shown to me by NJ-GT above that I might have overstated the case. I didn't know the seats could be had for only $5,500 a pair (where is this, btw?).

Spoke to a rep from PCNA over a complaint that I lodged with the Greensboro NC dealer. He said that they are getting one RS!!! Porsche does not plan on building the car next year. This is it. Good luck to all. The GT3 will be built for two years. I think alot of dealers over estimated the production numbers for the RS. Foreign cars italia sure did.
