I believe the US will get around 300 cars in total. Logic being that the 996 GT3 RS was made in 684 examples. Porsche has announced it's going to make around 1,000 997 GT3 RS. The increased amount is apparently due to the fact that the 997 will be sold in the US whereas the 996 wasn't.

And will the MKIIIGT3RS here be a one year model?
Its not a "MKIII" GT3RS. It is simply a 997 GT3 RS.

The reason we say MKII is because there was a MKI 996 GT3 and 996 MKII GT3.

There were 2 versions of the 996 GT3.

This is the email I received today from my dealer regarding my RS order.

We are still a little bit in the dark regarding the availability of the RS. The allocation totals are supposed to be out shortly. No one has any allocation as of yet and Porsche Cars North America, Inc. has not finalized either the pricing or standard equipment, not publicly anyway.

I will re-iterate...GT3's 588 and about half for RS'. This is what my dealer has said, so all those numbers above could be correct.

I've heard 150 cars for PCNA with earliest shipments in January if all goes as planned. Having been burned with the CGT numbers, I believe nothing until a car is out of production.

Default I posted this else where, but what the heck.

The dealers know already received their 2007 GT3 RS allocations. They will be March + builds and all are 2007.

Do not be fooled.

Every dealer knows what they have allocated for all of MY 2007 for the GT3 and GT3RS. This was done on purpose by PCNA so that dealers would not have artificially high wait lists and multiple people on multiple lists.....or at least that was the logic behind it.

FYI, this was only done for the GT3 and GT3 RS.

The only dealers that do NOT know how many GT3 RS cars they are getting are the ones that are NOT getting any...for MY 2007 or thru June of 2007 anyway.

The only thing that is certain is that the RS is based upon GT3's the dealer recieved.....now the interesting part is that dealers are recieving more 997 GT3's then 996 GT3's so far based on the inital run of 996 GT3 cars.

Basiclly dealers are recieving 997 GT3 cars and more of them sooner in the prodcution run then they recieved 996 GT3's in the same time of that cars prodcution run.

So either PAG will build more 997 GT3's or they are building more in a shorter time and the total run will be shorter.

Only time will tell.

yah man.. But I have to tell you we'll be getting our first GT3 customer soon and by all accounts, color-aside, and a couple of inches, what's really different? I put my name down a LONG time ago and was excited but came back down to Earth again. No roll bar (expected that), no seats (cheers), sun-roof (**** why don't I order a GT3 convertible!), PASM (oh how I love not being able to use JRZ or motons). Feeling grumpy but I'm sure when it comes time I'll be excited... I had a bunch of folks already try and buy their way into my spot so I guess people do want this car.
