Question Hello and new here......

I am wanting the GT3 since I have longed for one. I'm glad that the 997 went back to its old roots on the front lighting since I didn't like the 996 but it is still a great car regardless. Now my real question is that now I am wondering if you know any aftermarket sites that I can look into? I would like to put some performance package on them like perhaps lowering it a bit more and putting nice aftermarket stuff on it. I did look at the techart from CEC and absolutely love the new wing that it offers. The Type II which I believe. I know that some may beg to differ but to each of their own opinion. To be more specific for aftermarket products such as engine, suspension, body kits and the like.

Also on side note, is the GT3 coming in a widebody form correct? Correct me if I am wrong. I haven't gone to the dealer asking for more info since I have been busy with my Business that I currently own. So any info would greatly be appreciated. Oh, I did look at the Porsche site but it isnt lacking enough info that I am looking for.

Thank for your time and looking forward hearing from you guys!

Whoops, put in wrong location. Admin, could you put this in the right post? Sorry for this. Thanks once again.

My advice to you is to try the car out without any mods then once you've "mastered" it then start tweeking it...just my $.02

Ditto that.

Is this your 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 50th Porsche?

If 1st, 2nd or 3rd, or even if you've owned more, don't worry about mods, just drive the thing and see how you like it. Then when you know what you want to change/improve, go ahead and do it.

It's like putting salt to your food before tasthing it (lot of people do that though...), althought there's one thing IMO everyone should mod before trying the car, closing the damn hole on the roof...

Hmm it does make sense here. But I have been modding a lot of cars in time and still doing it. I have modded my S4 but I do know it is a different beast we are talking here. The list goes on when I have modded my cars. Some of them were into accidents where as 98% of them were their faults. And 1 was stolen and never found. But it doesnt matter to me anyways until I get the specific Porsche that Im looking into.

if you dont have an allocation/spot on 997gt3RS now, you most likely will not get one.

i concurr with Finn and MJ, drive the damn car first. and by all means. a GT3 really doesnt need much mods as 99% of the population can't drive to 50% of what the car can do. personally i haven't clear'd 49% hahahaha.

you dont want to lower a GT3, unless you want to use it as a street sweeper with the front lip.

if you must mod it here is a list
LWFW if RS made it here with out one.
change glass to lexan.
rip out the AC and stereo/spkers.
carbon kevlar racing shell with roll bar/cage and harness.
hit the tracks every other day.
that's about it.
oh yeah, stuff the hole up top

what do you say, Finn and MJ?

Even though only the RS gets the C4 widebody the base GT3 does get the stiffer C4 shell.

unlike 996 and 993 series,
all 997 AWD has wide body, TT, C4S, C4
C2 and C2s are narrow bodies.

This is correct. Base GT3 gets the C4 shell without the wide fenders.

can someone confirm?
i know the RS is supposed to have wider rear.
i dont know which shell the 997 GT3 will have. if it is indeed C4 shell, it should be the same width as C4S.

They both have the C4 shell, the RS just gets the wide fenders like the C4 & C4S and the GT3 just get NB fenders. It's somewhere GT3 propaganda on the Porsche website.
