Default 997.2 GT3 Clutch Pedal Squeak

Recently changed my clutch, and now this annoying squeak when I slowly release the clutch pedal..
Can't figure out where it's coming from.

See video.

Here is the clutch master cylinder from inside the frunk area, should I replace the master cylinder? Is there any DIY?

I'm not sure. Like Spyerx said, you may want to try less expensive things such as bleeding. If that doesn't solve it then you can move to replacing parts. It still sounds as if something needs to be lubricated. There is an article mentioning to lubricate the clutch pedal.

Hi @mumintrollet ,

I have exactly the same issue on my 997.2 GTS. It is driving me nuts. Have you been able to fix the issue? I am also considering changing the clutch master cylinder.

Cheers!

Hi @Centerlock
I have not yet find the time to change the master cylinder, but I have gained some more information about this issue on the www.
What I belive could be the problem making the squeak is the brake fluid that is also the clutch fluid coming from the same container.
I have track (race) fluid in mine, but Porsche recommend only to use LV (low Viscosity) brake fluid and there fore the thicker viscosity track fluid can't lubricate the master cylinder good enough and that is why the squeek.

I was not aware there were different brake fluid viscosities, but I can tell you that I do run high performance fluids exclusively (Motul 600, PFC 665) and do not have any squeaks.

Hi @mumintrollet,

thanks for the quick response! That is interesting as I also thought it would be my brake fluid. I am running on the OE recommended brake fluid though so I doubt that is the issue. Are you also having issues controlling the clutch? For me the pedal is just not precise enough since it has that squeak and I tend to burn the clutch because of that in rare occasions.
