My concern was being period correct (FVD Clubsport copy, real Clubsport, gone for good) Remember, authenticity wise the cars came with them ROW. If you resell most people want the cage the same way you do anyway. I wouldn't paint it a crazy color, my rule is always, how would it have come from Porsche? So I did satin black. I did the FVD Clubsport copy, bought the aforementioned carpet shelf from FVD as well. Fit like a charm and I stored the original in the basement. I then sent the car and the cage to Colorado to a trusted race shop for painting and install. I was more concerned about getting the cage installed period correctly as well with welded in plates etc. I am sure Isringhausen can get it done for you, they know their stuff. Probably the right time to do it too, When she comes back you will be giddy..

What shop in CO? Thanks

I bought a spare piece of carpet (that shelf piece) from LA Dismantlers so I could keep the original in tact

Chris Cervelli.

Doesn’t really have a shop name. I’m sure you know of him. He’s well renowned. Vintage race care prep etc.

If you want his number let me know..

Definitely needs a cage. Mine came with one and had been tracked. I continue to track it. It likes the track. It doesn't like the road. Too slow. :burnout:

Don't install a cage unless you plan on tracking the car. My GT3 came with a cage and I removed and sold it. It blocked rear visibility, was totally impractical as I was unable to store anything in the rear, I couldn't access the rear glass or area for cleaning, plus if you are not wearing a helmet and get into an accident, you can potentially injure yourself even worse than without a cage. Take advantage of your folding bucket seats! But hey, it's your money and if you like the look, go for it.

I vote yes. I put the OEM rear cage in mine. Painted it grey black instead of red so it's a little more subtle. I think white or gold would look good in yours!

The cars wouldn't have been sold with cages in ROW as a Clubsport if there was a liability or chance of injury. He has a GT3 they don't need cages ;) JK Mr. Rib..
