Intro to Busta Rib's .2 GT3

How’s it compare to your old S?
I’m spending way too much on my Carrera and wondering about the GT3. Mine has full GT3 suspension conversion plus extras so it’s the engine that’s the main difference for me.

For me, the value prop on the S went sideways at $60-65K. At that point, you are not far off from a 7.1 GT3. I loved my S but when I started adding up all the mods (KW coils with front lift, GT3 bucket seats, 4.0 engine rebuild, etc) that I wanted to do it just didn't make any sense. I would get pennies on the dollar when I ever sold the car. Yes, the engine is a significant factor in a GT3, but it is the sum of all the parts that really makes it special. You could try to build a GT3 based off of an S but you would drop a big chunk of change and still be short of a GT3 experience, IMO. If you can swing it, go GT3 all the way unless you don't want/need the power and edgier driving experience. If you want a GT3, buy the real thing.

Busta id go as far as to say the engine is the main factor in buying a GT3. Everything else is easily modded to GT3 spec. I came from a 06 cayman s and I had plans on a 3.8 swap but the breathing ability of that gen holds things back. I ended up with a rennlist owned RS and could not be happier. No way in hell im selling this machine. Debating to do the Dundon headers.... Who am I kidding, I want those dang headers😆

The other car is a Carrera S built by my friend Randy who did the airbox for the tail conversion. He is very talented and added GT3 front and rear bumpers, PDK tune, BBS LMs, and custom exhaust system. It's also painted Nardo Grey, which he also did himself. It is a looker and the kicker is the car is actually his wife's!
Randy will be fabbing and selling these bumperette delete plates soon. They will be CNC carbon fiber. There also might be a non-CF option, which is what I requested as I am going to paint mine body color. You can see the CF option on his wife's car below. I'll keep you posted when they are available.

Hey @Busta Rib , another local here and I know Randy and I think I've seen one or two of your former 911s through the years too. I would also be interested in the bumperette delete plate so please let me know when they are available. I actually may want two of them for both my 997s.
Hoping to see you and your car out in the wild soon when we can start going to some car events!

So...wait a sec, I'm thinking...you've ADDED a wing to a non-winged car, and REMOVED a wing from a winged car. Have I understood correctly?
Either way, those are two nice machines!
